Ways of HIV transmission are professed

Massive propaganda has reached its goal - today everyone (at least if we talk about people in the society) knows what AIDS and HIV are. Once again, talk about the symptoms and consequences of this disease ... indeed, unnecessarily. But the list of ways to transmit HIV infection is at least because even existing, and quite strong, knowledge still does not save the society from phobia. In people, fear is still strong, and not abstract infection, but a specific contact with those who are already infected. Not everyone is able to communicate with the carrier of HIV simply, at ease, not to mention shaking hands. Therefore, this topic will remain urgent for a long time, and it is too early to slow down the pace of preventive work. But if earlier the emphasis in it was on telling how to get infected with HIV, now the emphasis should be shifted, changing the "can" to "impossible." In the name of getting rid of fear. And for the sake of those who are no different from everyone else, except for the diagnosis of "HIV-positive".

Do not consider the studies conducted around the world, but all their results are reduced to a single denominator: there are only three ways of transmission of HIV infection, everything else is nothing more than delusions, myths and artificially created sensations. Infection is possible either sexually, or vertically (that is, from mother to child), or parenteral (through the blood, transplanted organs, injections). The implementation of mechanisms for the transmission of the pathogen can be different - we will talk about this now - but these will be all the same three already mentioned ways of HIV transmission, the fourth and the following do not exist.

According to statistics, 86 percent of infections are sexually transmitted, of which 71 percent are heterosexual and 15 percent are homosexual. And although not every sexual act with an HIV-positive partner necessarily leads to infection, this way of infection is the most common. At the same time, the use of a condom reduces the risk to naught.

The vertical path - the infection of a newborn with HIV infection - can occur both in utero, and during labor, and subsequently - with breastfeeding.

In the last quarter of the last century, cases were frequently recorded where patients were infected in medical institutions with blood transfusions. However, the modern control system also reduced this risk to almost zero. Therefore, the ways of transmitting HIV through the blood are mainly use of a common syringe by drug addicts and infection through the razor blade or manicure accessories contaminated with blood. However, the latter method is purely theoretical, since there is no documentary evidence of cases of infection through a razor or scissors.

All possible ways of HIV transmission are exhausted. Although the virus can be contained in all biological fluids, its concentration in urine, sweat, saliva and tears is extremely low, insufficient for infection. Therefore, neither airborne - like influenza and other respiratory diseases - it is impossible to "catch" HIV or food or water. Not that handshakes and hugs, but even kisses are completely safe in this regard.

Judge for yourselves: not a single dentist in the world has contracted the saliva of the patient, no one in the laboratories studying the urine and stool of the patients has been infected. No matter how many families of HIV-positive people were examined, they never found a case of household transmission - neither through a towel nor a towel, nor through bedding, or through utensils, toilet seat, or any other household contact.

Just remember: no other way, except for unprotected sex, you can not get infected from an HIV-infected person. So feel free to stretch out your hand!
