Waterfall Khuchninsky - a tourist attraction of Dagestan

Dagestan is a small country, but unique in its kind. There are many beautiful monuments of nature. The Republic is located between the Caspian Sea and the Caucasian mountain range (Greater Caucasus). More than 6,000 rivers flow through the territory here. Many of them are related to mountain streams. They have a rough current, stony banks. Such a river is located in Tabasaran district. It's called Hanag. Its channel passes along the mountain slopes. On one of the sites there is a sharp descent, on which water falls with a bubbling stream down, forming a waterfall Khuchninsky.

Name and location

As it was said before, this waterfall is formed on the river. Hanag. It is located just one kilometer from the center of Tabasaran district, near the village of Khuchni. It was thanks to the settlement that the waterfall got its name. However, it is not the only one. Many call it Khanagsky, after the name of the river.

Description

The Khuchninsky Waterfall is a cascade with two degrees. The first has a height of about 3 m, and the second - much higher, about 15 m. At its foot formed a small pond where it is pleasant to soak up in the purest water. The fact that many tourists come here is indicated by cave inscriptions, which they leave. Their essence consists mainly in greetings and wishes. These tourists, of course, not only from Dagestan and the entire Russian Federation, but also from other post-Soviet countries.

How to get there?

Waterfall Khuchninsky has a convenient location. It's not difficult to get to it. It is enough to drive from Derbent by city bus to the village of Khuchni. And further at will: if there is a heavy baggage, you can catch a taxi, and if it's light, then it's quite possible to get there on foot, knowing the way. You can also do this on your own car. The distance is about 60 km. Tourists who travel a large group are advised to rent a bus.
