Warming under siding: review, installation, materials and feedback. Warming the house outside with a wool under the siding

At the moment, savings on heating appliances are necessary. This is helped by the warming of the house outside the wool under the siding, since with the help of thermal insulation materials one can not only protect against noise and wind, but also completely keep warm air inside, not allowing it to mix or exchange with other air masses.

Options for wall insulation

Many people remember the need for high-quality insulation at home only when the cold comes. The decisive role is played by insulating materials located under the external siding, as they protect the frame of walls from the effects of negative environmental factors. Every builder should remember that it is necessary to have the walls insulated from the outside before the frost arrives, since the minimum temperature for laying the insulating material must be at least + 5 °. To qualitatively insulate the walls, you need to make sure that the optimal way of finishing was chosen.

Types of work on the insulation of walls

External insulation under siding. This is the best way to protect the walls from exposure to minus temperature, as well as other factors, in particular high humidity. It is desirable to choose it, and if necessary combine it with the second method. The insulation of the walls from the outside is another indisputable advantage: excess space is not taken away from the interior, as the thickness of the insulation is important only from the outside. It should be remembered that this type of insulation is much higher in efficiency than the second option.

Internal insulation under siding. This method is less effective. He constantly causes a lot of disputes among developers in their relevance. Typically, the insulation of the house outside the wool under the siding inside is effective for multi-storey houses, so it is not necessary to apply it in private.

Choosing the right option

Both methods deserve attention when qualitative and durable thermal insulation of the walls of the room is being arranged. It should be remembered that insulation under siding outside is necessary for houses of any type, and the second option can be useful for finishing multi-storey houses, where often external insulation is impossible.

This is due to the fact that developers do not want to increase the cost and length of work because of the need to attract industrial climbers. In a private house, such a problem can not appear, so the insulation is mainly from the outside.

Features of insulation under siding

At present, the warming of houses is an art, as many methods and technologies have appeared, allowing to make exactly the effect that was originally planned. Siding allows you to protect the building from rain and wind, but it is only possible to do this efficiently together with quality external insulation. Usually together with a heater, high-quality waterproofing is used or a material combining the qualities of these two coatings, for example, mineral wool, is used.

If you choose a different insulation, you can give preference to the plate type, which is made on the basis of expanded polystyrene. It is advisable to choose mineral wool, as it has the best qualities of many insulation materials. Often expanded polystyrene and penoplex are used when it is necessary to make insulation of apartments or, for example, balconies.

In private houses, developers have increasingly opted for mineral wool, the advantages of which are maximized when manufacturing a thermal insulation layer to protect wooden walls. Therefore, recently, the warming of mineral wool under siding has become popular. This material protects from the harmful effects of the environment, and is also not exposed to the action of microorganisms.

Warming of the house under siding

Walls under the siding can be insulated without much difficulty. The whole design of the ventilated facade consists of the main frame, the padded insulation and the outer covering. There are many ways to arrange these systems, but you should use the simplest version.

Beginning of work

  1. The surface of the wall is completely cleared of contamination, so as to qualitatively effect the warming of the house by the mineral wool under the siding. It should be borne in mind that neither construction nor repair work can be carried out qualitatively unless carefully prepared beforehand. This rule primarily applies to the outer surface of the wall, which, if necessary, needs to be corrected, and then cleaned of all the protruding parts.
  2. The surface of the wall is carefully primed. This action can be carried out immediately after the initial preparation of the framework for the work on insulation. It is necessary to purchase and dilute a special formulation for the primer, and then apply it with a uniform layer.

Creating a skeleton

Padding is carried out. It is allowed to do this both in horizontal and vertical direction, depending on the preferences of the developer himself. To create a high-quality crate, you need to choose wooden blocks in size approximately 40x50 or 50x50 mm. These parameters are relevant for insulation, which has standard height and width.

To attach the straps to the wall, you should use dowels, but if necessary, you can use ordinary nails. The main condition for successful work is the use of only new and high-quality materials. Between the bars should be formed a distance, which is at least 60 cm. This is how the preparation is done before the walls are insulated from the outside with a wool under the siding.

The shaping of insulating materials

Often the insulation should be cut. It can be sold in a plate or elongated form, but sometimes it is necessary either to cut out the necessary parts from the whole material, or to adjust the shape of the insulated insulation already cut, since the circumstances and sizes of the walls are not always standard. To ensure that the insulation is effective and reliable, you should approach it slicing responsibly.

For optimal cutting, take a sharp knife and additionally apply a board made of wood to make the work process more convenient. The wooden panel is used as a press to form the most clear and symmetrical segments. Dimensions must be made corresponding to the already installed crate, but it is advisable to add 5 cm, so that the material would go right in the end, leaving no gaps.

Installation of thermal insulation

  1. There is laying insulation. It is necessary to install the pre-cut slabs exactly between the brusks, eliminating all the gaps, if possible, leveling the material. It should be checked at the end of this stage that all the slabs fit perfectly to the contours of the crate, avoiding gaps, inconsistencies in dimensions or cracks. Following this technology, you can qualitatively perform the insulation of the walls outside under the siding with your own hands.
  2. The vertical lath is laid after installing the heater plates. It is necessary at this stage to determine the type of facing material that will be used in a particular case to qualitatively effect the insulation under the siding. The step of the crate is often 40 cm, but this is only possible if the most common and convenient vinyl siding is used. Metal siding has excellent strength characteristics and surpasses the previous version for reliability, however its installation is more complicated. The step of the battens in this case should be approximately 60-100 cm.

Additional Activities

The second layer of insulation serves to ensure that no harmful substances penetrate the frame of walls, and also helps to insulate the room to the maximum extent. Usually the second layer is placed in the vertical direction, but there is an option with the installation of subsequent blocks directly to the joints of the previous ones, preventing direct entry of cold air into the structure. So is the insulation of a wooden house under siding.

If necessary, additional installation of waterproofing is carried out. In the case of mineral wool, professional developers recommend to carry out this stage of work qualitatively. You can use both a special film and a diffuse membrane. Both these materials are able to protect mineral wool from penetrating liquid and to ensure the safety of the building walls from liquid, which increases their durability and allows long time not to resort to repair work. Usually the waterproofing is fastened to the crate when using self-tapping screws.

When the heater is laid and covered with waterproofing, you can proceed to fixing the siding. If you follow the rules of the work and execute all its stages in the established manner, you can guarantee excellent thermal insulation and reliability of the walls at any time of the year.
