The rescue end of Alexandrov. Features of manufacturing of this inventory

Safety of water craft on water has always been of great importance. Not surprisingly, many devices have been used to protect ships and their personnel at various historical periods. They passed the test of time and saved many lives drowning. Such means should include the famous end of Alexandrov, which was made back in 1914 by the forces of an inventive sailor-rescuer of the Russian Empire. Initially, its design consisted of materials that were widespread in that historical period: floats made of cork with tarpaulin, a strong tench of natural materials and lead cargo weighing no more than 200 grams. Now such a design would look very archaic, so all of its elements are replaced by modern analogs of synthetic origin. The changes also affected the lead weighting agent, which at the end of the 20th century was replaced by a less traumatic sandbag. After all, the consequences of getting lead in a drowning person could be very sad.

Using

The invention has passed the test of time and proved its validity, so Alexandrov's rescue end is present on all small size vessels and in areas of potential risk (beaches, bathing areas and so on).

The use of this rescue equipment is carried out as follows: the drowning person is thrown the end of the line, while its opposite part remains in the hands of the second side. A drowning man puts on a loop and winds it under his armpits, after which he is pulled out of the water column (an alternative application allows only to take up the end of Alexandrov). After all, the line is made of polypropylene and polystyrene floats, whose density is much less than that of H 2 O, which makes it possible to provide positive buoyancy (similar to a lifejacket).

Application and standardization

Very many owners of small boats, especially when it comes to their first registration or inspection of the technical condition, face problems. Of course, the description of the bureaucratic difficulties of this process requires a separate article, but the main obstacle is not the willfulness of officials. The problem arises when equipping a small vessel according to GOST - usually the end of Aleksandrov does not meet the requirements put forward to it. And the blame for all - the abundance of cheap Chinese goods and, of course, the deficit of certified products of domestic production. As a result, buying a ready line for the revenue of drowning is very difficult or its cost is too high.

Manufacturing

Therefore, it is best to buy everything you need and collect the rescue end of Alexandrov with your own hands. To do this, you need the following components:

  • Polypropylene rope with a diameter of 5 to 6 millimeters and a length of about 30 m;
  • Large foam plastic floats (preferably ball-shaped or elliptical shape);
  • Waterproof paint in red.

On one side of the rope a loop is made not less than 600-650 millimeters long, after which floats are placed on the tench, which are located along its entire length. From the opposite part of the rope, another circle is made, but this time with a diameter of about 40 cm. As a result, the end of Alexandrov is made and practically ready for use. It only remains to tie a small bag of sand to its part and paint the polypropylene floats in a noticeable (preferably red) color.

Operation

Within the framework of this article, it will not be superfluous to recall the peculiarities of the use of this rescue device in emergency situations. The smaller loop of the line is put on the left hand, after which the big one is vigorously thrown forward. The drowning man grabs her and now he can easily be pulled out.
