The preparation "Malachite green"

"Malachite Green" is a medicinal product that is used to treat aquarium fish. With its help you will save your pets from dermatomycosis, fin rot, invasive diseases that can be caused by protozoan parasites.

The preparation "Malachite green" is used only for adult fish of the following species: swordfish, guppies, mollyenesia, pecilia, gouramis, plaeypheri, barbs, heterocrots, nannostomus arapirangian, heteromorphs, voyalevosts and shubunkins. Treatment of aquarium fish of other species, especially those that do not have scales, must be performed with other drugs. Or reduce the dose at least twice.

The drug is sold in 50 ml vials. The active substance content is 10 mg. One bottle is designed for 100 liters of water. From this it follows that for each liter you will need to take 5 ml of the solution. Measure conveniently with a cap from a vial that contains exactly this volume.

Before starting treatment, the diseased fish must be separated from the healthy ones and planted in another aquarium. Thus, only quarantined fish are exposed to treatment. The procedure is carried out four times a day with a break of five hours. The first two days the solutions are prepared from the calculation of 5 ml of the drug per 2 liters of water. On the following, third and fourth days, the solution is prepared somewhat differently: 1.5 ml of water is taken for 5 ml of the drug. It should be noted that every day you need to make a new solution. To malachite greens did not harm the fish, the tank should create the appropriate conditions. Aeration must be provided, water temperature + 24-25º С.

If the treatment of fish is carried out in a common aquarium, the "Malachite Green" remedy should be used in conjunction with copper sulfate, in a ratio of 5 ml: 5 drops. This amount is enough for 10 liters of water. The finished product, the amount of which is calculated for the volume of water in the aquarium, must be diluted with fresh water up to 250 ml. To do this, the water must be allowed to settle for 24 hours.

When the water with the solution is ready, it is divided into three equal parts and poured into the aquarium at an interval of 30 minutes. At the same time, slowly mix the water. In no case can the whole solution be poured into the water. This can lead to fish poisoning.

During the treatment and treatment of the aquarium should monitor the temperature of the water. It should not be more than 28º C. In addition, it is necessary to get a biofilter, which can significantly reduce the concentration of the drug in the water.

The above doses of the drug solution are added to the water every 7 days. The processing process can last about a month or more. During this time, most likely, there will be a need for water replacement and cleaning. In this case, after the completion of this procedure, the concentration of the solution must be restored.

It is worth noting that the means "Malachite green" refers to resistant dyes. The color of the water can be preserved for a long time. In order to accelerate the purification of water after the end of treatment, biofilters with activated carbon are used. They are able to quickly make the water in the aquarium transparent and clean.
