The port of Vanino is a seaport. Khabarovsk, Vanino

Port Vanino (on the map, shown in the article, you can see its location) is a Russian seaport of federal significance. It is located in the Khabarovsk Territory, in the deep-water Bay of Vanin. It is the second sea port of the Far East basin of Russia for cargo turnover - more than 20 million tons.

general information

Vanino district was formed as an independent territorial unit within the Khabarovsk Territory in 1973 in accordance with the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR. It absorbed the north-western part of the Soviet-Havana region, which was previously part of the Primorsky Territory. What were the prerequisites for singling it out into a separate administrative-territorial unit? This is explained by the rapid economic growth of this region in the early seventies of the last century. One of the attendant factors was the seaport of Vanino. Already in 1983, the volume of processing of cargo reached a little less than nine million tons. All the load was laid on the port of Vanino (photo, given in the article) and at the railway junction. Compared with 1973, the volume of cargo processing doubled. Noticeable shifts have also occurred in the woodworking and forestry industries. Thus, with the commissioning of the Tumninsky timber enterprise and the Koshinsky lesokombinata, the total volume of logging reached one million cubic meters per year. The port of Vanino, also not lagging behind and constantly evolving, it opened its own well-equipped ferry and container terminal. And with the completion of the construction of the railway (Baikal-Amur), Russia opens a reliable outlet to the Pacific Ocean. The port of Vanino becomes the eastern gate of our country.

Connections

This port with ferry ferry services serves the delivery of cargo in several short-haul destinations: Sakhalin, Arctic, Magadan, Kamchatka, Vladivostok, Kuriles and other ports of the Sea of Okhotsk. In addition, the transportation of goods to the countries of the Asia-Pacific region (China, Korea, Japan and others), the USA, Australia, Canada, India, etc. is carried out from here. The Vanino Port is among the top ten ports of our country in terms of cargo volumes.
