HomelinessBuilding

The need for conducting geological research is obvious.

In the first days of May this year, when I came to my dacha, I watched as a neighbor through a couple of plots from me was outraged by the quality of construction. The new two-storey house, which had just been finished for the winter, cracked the facade, the front door skewed and did not want to open. Coming closer I found that the crack is not alone, and the window openings suffered the same fate as the doorway. Doubts did not remain - engineering and geological surveys were either not carried out at all, or the developer hired hackers for 3 kopecks and received the corresponding result. The unfortunate owner of the house continued to fumigate the accustomed builders on what light is worth, but as it turned out, he did it in vain. After listening to advice on building Internet forums, he decided not to conduct engineering surveys, but to take advantage of the experience of neighbors, completely ignoring the fact that his construction is located a hundred meters from them. Thus, the foundation was partially delivered on quicksand, which did not slow to affect the entire construction. And as it is known from practice of work on alteration and strengthening of foundations are extremely expensive, their price is sometimes comparable with the cost of new construction. As a result, the neighbor had to spend extremely expensive work, without which all the construction would eventually become completely worthless.

It should be noted the special danger of construction without proper geological survey in such cases, on slopes, in the vicinity of ravines and various reservoirs.

In such cases, it is necessary to carry out special research especially carefully, since construction, which is wrong from the point of view of engineering geology , can lead not only to cracks and distortions in the building, but also to its complete destruction, which is a danger to the life and health of the tenants of such a house.

Examples of problematic construction are still a great many. A significant part of the mansions of the early 90s, when "easy money" began to appear, was built without proper research. And until now you can see the mansions built in those years with cracks in the walls. Because of the same do not want to be sold unfinished houses in some cottage settlements where, at seeming initial cheapness as a result of a detailed study of the future purchase, most of the potential customers simply prefer not to get involved with this unfinished construction, since investments in the reconstruction of illiterately constructed foundations are extremely high .

Thus, we can state that the fact that it is economical to save on the responsible part of the construction, which is engineering-geological research, does not lead up to good. Do not save, in the end it will be much cheaper!
