The first signs of kidney disease, which should be noted

According to statistics, various diseases of the kidneys affect up to 3.5% of the inhabitants of the Russian Federation, and most of them are women. This fact can only be explained by the physiological features of the structure of the female body. However, men also often diagnosed with kidney diseases, which in their case are more difficult to treat.

Symptoms of kidney disease in adults, both men and women, can be very diverse and they are not limited to just pricking or pain in that part of the lumbar region where the kidneys are anatomically localized. Common signs of the disease, which should alert, you can call unusual color and unpleasant odor of urine, a significant increase in body temperature and blood pressure, as well as general weakness, dry mouth, constant thirst and loss of appetite. In addition, as a result of the laboratory analysis, blood and protein can be found in the urine. This may indicate a violation in the activity of the kidneys and the development of a pathological process in them. External signs of urological diseases are swelling of the face, limbs, as well as accumulation of fluid in the abdominal cavity.

In addition, the signs of kidney disease can be displayed in a deviation from the daily norm of the amount of urine output. The norm for an adult healthy person is 2 liters of urine a day. But some kidney diseases can provoke an increase in this amount, or, conversely, a decrease. Therefore, such an adverse symptom, as thirst, can be caused precisely by excessive excretion of the body from the kidneys. All of the above first signs of kidney disease should be the reason to contact a urologist. He, having made a diagnosis in time, will prescribe the appropriate treatment. You can not ignore the signs of kidney disease, and even more so, engage in self-medication.

In medical practice, all urological problems are divided into three groups, each of which has its own distinctive signs of kidney disease:

  1. Inflammatory processes in the kidneys. These include pyelonephritis, glomerulonephritis, kidney failure, urosepsite, paranephritis;
  2. Kidney alien formation. This is sand and stones;
  3. Difficult outflow of urine. Happens with hydronephrosis, polyuria, acute urinary retention and anuria.

All signs of inflammatory kidney disease are accompanied by such common symptoms as a periodic increase in body temperature of more than 38 degrees, pronounced night sweats, skin color unnaturally earthy or icteric, loss of appetite, frequent headaches, fatigue, nausea and vomiting, high blood pressure. In this case, the patient experiences constant aching pain in the lumbar region. It is difficult for him to walk, move, turn the body to the sides, because with every movement there is pain.

The formation of sand or stones in the kidneys - the disease is rather insidious and difficult to diagnose. Symptoms of this disease may not be manifested for years, the patient feels satisfactory and does not have any special complaints about his health. Only many later, with the formation of a large amount of sand or large stones in the kidneys, a person begins to feel pain, characteristic for the course of inflammatory processes. Pain is very sharply felt on palpation, that is, palpation of the kidney. The urine of such patients is turbid, can be very saturated, almost brown, since there is blood in it.

Symptoms of difficult outflow of urine vary depending on the type of disease. In anuria, urine does not enter the bladder at all because of many processes, for example, damage to the renal parenchyma, inflammatory process, or as a result of an obstruction to urinary outflow. Frequent, painful urination in small portions is characteristic of dysuria. With acute urinary retention, bursting pains appear in the lower abdomen with imperative characteristic urges, accompanied by an inability to satisfy the need.
