Iodomarin - a preventive and curative remedy against thyroid diseases, refers to iodine-containing drugs. The microelement iodine, so necessary and indispensable, for normalizing the functioning of the thyroid gland, is not synthesized by the body, so its inadequacy must be compensated from the outside, by taking appropriate medications prescribed by the doctor. In iodomarine, a zone where iodine deficiency is insufficient in the soil, vegetables, etc., the instruction to which recommends taking the drug to compensate for the deficiency of iodine, will successfully replace the trace element iodine, its lack in food. The development of endemic goiter and other diseases of the thyroid gland stops when iodine comes in the optimal amount.

Iodomarin, instructions and indications for the use of the drug:

  • Treatment of certain diseases, provoked by iodine deficiency in the body: diffuse euthyroid goiter, nontoxic diffuse goiter;
  • Preventive measures against the recurrence of goiter after a course of pharmacological treatment of goiter or surgery, due to thyroid disease;
  • As a preventive measure for people especially in need of the necessary amount of iodine intake (children, adolescents, pregnant women, mothers, breast-feeding children), as well as for the prevention of thyroid diseases that are caused by iodine deficiency.

How to take iodomarine?

Reception, directed against the occurrence of goitre (for prophylaxis):

  • Pregnant women and women breast-feeding a day - 200 mcg;
  • Children up to 14 years of age and adults receive a daily intake of 100 to 200 μg;
  • Children (including newborns and infants) - from 50 to 100 mcg per day.
  • In prophylactic purposes from goiter (relapse), usually prescribed an average daily dose, Iodomarin - the instruction recommends - 100 to 200 mcg.
  • In the case of prophylactic intake, iodine preparations are usually recommended for taking long courses or permanently (several years). In some cases, for the prevention of iodine-containing drugs taken throughout the life period.

When a goiter is treated, the purpose is to:

  1. Adults under the age of 45 years of age - from 300 to 500 mcg.
  2. To teenagers and children for a day - from 100 to 200 mkg.
  3. Take iodomarine - the instruction explains - children of any age category, (newborns inclusive) need from 2 weeks to a month. Children of school age, adolescents and adults are recommended to take the drug for a period of six months to a year.

Take the pill after eating, drink it with enough liquid.

In these cases, the use of the drug "Iodomarin" is not recommended:

  • Senile (herpetiform) dermatitis of Dühring;
  • Adenoma toxic thyroid (exception is the preoperative period of iodine therapy);
  • Hyperthyroidism.

Pregnant women, as well as women breastfeeding, the use of the drug is possible, as prescribed by the doctor.

To avoid the development of hyperkalemia, do not take iodomarine concomitantly with potassium-sparing diuretics.

Progression of goiter can provoke simultaneous reception with lithium preparations.

Yodomarin, composition:

The active substance is potassium iodide 131 μg (pure iodine 100 or 200 μg). In addition, the preparation includes: magnesium stearate, highly disperse silicon dioxide, sodium carboxymethyl starch, gelatin, magnesium carbonate basic light, lactose monohydrate.

Iodomarin is a drug that is allowed to leave without a prescription (over-the-counter medication).

Store iodomarine in a place with a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C. The drug is usable for 3 years from the date of manufacture.
