The capital of Latvia: the city with the eyelashes of a woman and the heart of a man

Riga is an amazing fairy city, with its charm capable of hitting any traveler. Here, miraculously, all the styles of Western European architecture are combined: from the harsh and lofty Middle Ages to the frivolous modern. And every building keeps its own fascinating history, to listen to which is a pleasure.

The capital of Latvia is a city where the older generation goes in the hope of finding their youth, their first love and their first lung and therefore the most important thing in life is happiness. Young people aspire here, so that in a year, becoming an older generation, to return to youth. This is the cycle.

Each city, and even more so old and beautiful as Riga, has its own character and a special unique atmosphere. He breathes, laughs and lives like a huge bizarre person. To become a trusted person who is not dangerous to discover secrets, this giant's friend, it is necessary to get to know him correctly. Someone needs a guide for this, someone - a guide. The capital of Latvia submits only to those who with an open heart, forgetting about all the recommendations, conventions and generally accepted tourist routes, go in search of adventure in the unknown trails of this eastern Hamburg and small Paris in one person.

Stone and surprisingly colorful streets of Riga - its arteries, the blood in which - the amazing sounds of music, coming from all sides. Street troubadours, performing works of different styles and directions, give the city a special charm and charm. In general, the capital of Latvia is a musical place. That there is one organ installed in the Dome Cathedral. Huge, high with a five-story house and with 7 thousand pipes, it is able to hum gently with angelic and human voices, echoing with the rustle of leaves and displaying harmonious sea tunes.

And the Dome Cathedral itself is worthy of admiration. Its construction lasted more than a century - probably, that's why the impressive building acquired such a majestic and wise appearance: the amazing beauty of the stained-glass windows depicting biblical paintings, sculptures belonging to the hand of the greatest masters. And in the very secluded corner, a mousy cast from metal was hidden - a mute reproach of the repairmen-finishers of the model of 1905. Then, at the beginning of the last century, the cathedral did not have enough funds to pay for repair work, and the masters had nothing to do but to complain grimly: poor as church mice - and plant this eternal rodent on one of the forged fences of the cathedral.

The capital of Latvia does not like hurry. In addition to the centennial construction of the Dome Cathedral, Riga can always boast a couple of unfinished buildings. On this occasion, there is an ancient tradition. From time to time a huge monster emerges from the Daugava River and asks in a thunderous voice: is Riga ready? This terrible creature for unknown reasons dreams to swallow the country's main city. That's only for the monster-esthete completeness of the capital is fundamentally important. Therefore, residents (all as one business men or beautiful women) answer: no, not yet ready, still under construction! It remains only to wish Latvia talented, as before, architects and sluggish builders who will not allow Riga to end its life in the mouth of an unpleasant monster.

Country Latvia can not boast of an extensive area and a multi-million population. But here there are small pieces from all over the world, including the literary and cinematic: Baker Street, on which there is a modest bachelor's flat of the chief detective of all times and peoples, an ignominiously failed conspiracy appearance on Blumenstrasse and many more streets and houses.

And indeed, with the original thinking, Latvians have everything in order. Well, where else would you meet an exhibition of contemporary art, comfortably settled in the fish pavilion of the Central Market or the weathercock - a black cat, mockingly watching from the roof of an old house? And there is also Hogwarts - a children's camp in Latvia, where young wizards are trained with all diligence. Do not count everything. And this is not required, because Latvia has been waiting for you for a long time.
