Sterling Bruce is a famous science fiction writer, professor of Internet research and science fiction at the European Higher School, an international theoretician, a literary critic. He wrote a large number of novels, short stories and short stories, many of which were reproduced on the screen. His fruitful activity was, of course, marked by awards and prizes. His first science fiction work he sold at 22 years old!

Together with his colleague William Gibson, Sterling tried to positively influence the world outlook and aesthetics of the younger generation, which was trapped in computer progress.

Born April 14, 1954 in the city of Brownsville, Texas. Bruce spent most of his childhood in Galveston, Texas. At the age of fifteen, he moved with his family to India, where his father began working on a fertilizer plant project. Bruce Sterling for a long time traveled through this breathtaking country. This explains his love for Indian culture and Bollywood cinema.

In 1976 he graduated from the University of Texas, and a year later published the first sci-fi story "Ocean of Involution." In it, the author describes a gloomy planet, whose inhabitants are in some kind of universal error, abusing drugs.

But he became well-known for organizing annual parties in Austin, where he brilliantly represented digital art.

A unique genre

Sterling Bruce publishes a number of fantastic works (the most famous "Schizmatritsa") under the pseudonym Vincent Omniaveritas, which in Latin means "truth conquers all". These stories were part of the great cyberpunk genre. His development Bruce dealt with such brilliant authors as Rudy Roker, William Gibson and John Shirley.

Despite the fact that his cyberpunk in 1988, many critics declared dead and boring, Sterling continued to write about future technologies and its impact on humans. He was engaged in the formation of a unique media project for studying obsolete forms of the media. The science fiction writer predicted that the paper will never disappear, since it is an excellent option for storing information that does not require batteries. And also with confidence declared that the Internet would turn into something radically unexpected.

Of course, he also fantasized about future technological innovations. I hoped that they would solve such important problems as global warming, accumulation of debris, clogging of the atmosphere, and others. He founded special movements and organizations to tell people about the environmental dangers of consumer life.

In 1990, Bruce Sterling, along with William Gibson, published the novel The Machine of Differences, which describes London in 1855, which, in his opinion, was too anachronistic.

In 2003, Sterling became a professor of Internet research and science fiction at the European Higher School, began to conduct intensive summer seminars. In 2005, employees of the Art Center of the College of Design in Los Angeles called him a real visionary of technological development.

For several years, the writer lived in Serbia with his second wife, Yasmina Tesanovik (Serbian author and director). In September 2007, he moved to Italy, where he found a delightful place to work - the city of Turin. Sterling Bruce traveled the world a lot, telling fans about his novels, scientific achievements and world problems.

In 1989, Sterling received the Campbell Award for the novel Island in the Network.

In 1997, "Hugo Evord" wins for the best short story "Bicycle Master".

For the brilliant work "Taklamakan" in 1999, he was awarded the "Hayakawa" prize, the second time he became the owner of "Hugo Evord".
