Shorthair breeds of cats - features and character

A cat is one of the most common companion pets. Domestication of cats began when a person moved from a nomadic to a sedentary. It used to be that the Egyptians were the first domesticated wild cat, but scientists proved that it happened in the Middle East about nine and a half thousand years ago.

The number of cats now is more than 600 million individuals, but most of them are mongrel. Active breeding work has been carried out quite recently and a variety of breeds have been brought out, from longhaired Persian to completely naked sphinx-free sphinxes.

All breeds can be divided into the following groups: smooth-haired, long-haired and short-haired, which in turn are classified into groups. For example, short-haired breeds of cats are officially divided into 4 groups. This - British shorthair, European, Asian and Siamese shorthair, and the rest of the breed with short hair.
British shorthair breeds of cats were bred in England. Breeding began in the seventies. All breeds of cats differ not only appearance, but also character. For example, British short-haired breeds of cats are mobile, active, they are unpretentious and attached to their masters, they love to play with children. British shorthair has an average size and does not require special care, for example, daily combing.

In this group there are 65 different breeds of wool.
The musculature of these cats is very developed, the limbs are massive and short with round paws, the neck is sturdy and short, the tail is also short, slightly curved. Head massive, round, with broad muzzle. The nose and ears are short, large round eyes are widely planted, and their color is similar to the color of their wool. In general, British Shorthair are beautiful, proportionate and quite harmoniously composed.

European shorthair cat in appearance is very similar to the British, but a little more graceful. The trunk of these cats is thick, medium-sized, with developed musculature. Massive limbs and tail are of medium length. The tip of the tail is rounded. The head of cats is large enough, the nose is medium in length, wide. Ears of rounded shape, standing, sometimes there are "brushes" on the ends. The eyes are round, a little mowed. The color of the eyes depends on the breed and can be yellow, green or blue. These cats were among the first to settle near a person. By nature, these cats are calm, trustful, love children.

Wool from European cats is thick and shiny. This breed has thirty-five varieties, differing in the color of wool. The suit can be white, silver, black, brown with a pattern, cream. But there may be other colors. This group of cats is common not only in Europe, but also on all other continents. Together with the settlers, European shorthair cats came to America, where an American short-haired cat was removed from it. Officially, this breed was registered in 1904, and the ancestor was the cat Buster Brown.
The American cat has good health and a very restrained temperament. She loves to eat and does it in a secluded place, and then goes to bed.

"American" is simply lazy to improbability, has a very kind nature, which is especially manifested in relation to children, and an excellent flair. These cats with pleasure and eat a lot, but do it in a secluded place, so you can not scold the four-legged pet for pulling food out of the cup and carrying it into a corner. In general, these cats lead a sedentary lifestyle and are lazy by nature.
Siamese, like Asian short-haired, on the contrary, are distinguished by their mobility and quick reaction. The brightest distinguishing feature of this breed is acromelanism, that is, the coloring of the limbs in a dark color. Siamese cats used to be very expensive and were the privilege of only crowned people. The cats themselves are very elegant with bright blue eyes. Head oblong, nose thin and long. Asian cats were produced by crossing Siamese and European cats. This is one of the new breeds, so there are new colors. The characteristic features of the breed are the green eyes. Outwardly they resemble Siamese, but do not have an acromelanic color.

The rest of the short-haired breeds of cats are also very beautiful and original, each with its own history, and each one has fans.
