Rapidly growing bug branness: planting and care

Brugmansiya, planting and caring for which are carried out at their own site, is a beautiful shrub that is distinguished by a lush bloom and belongs to the family of the nightshade. If properly maintained, the plant can reach a height of five meters. Flowers have a tubular-campanulate shape. Their diameter reaches 20 cm, while the length is 50 cm. As for the coloring, it is quite diverse. Flower brugmansiya, the photo of which is located below, can boast a pleasant aroma, which is almost imperceptible in the daytime, but intensifies after nightfall. The leaves grow to half a meter in length and have an elongated oval shape. An interesting feature of this shrub is its rapid development. In particular, stems, flowers and leaves grow at a rate of geometric progression.

This shrub can be propagated in several ways: seeds, air layers and cuttings. In the first case, for a plant such as brugmansiya, planting and nursing begin in January, when the seeds are sent to pots with light soil to a depth of one centimeter. Then they are watered and covered with a film. Provided that a favorable temperature regime of 20-25 degrees and bright light can be expected in ten days, the first shoots can be expected to be released from the film and sprayed with water every two to three days. After the formation of the fifth leaf, the seedlings of the brugmansia shrub, planting and caring for which will be performed on their own site, can be moved to separate pots.

The use of the air-laying method implies the use of a last-year shoot ready for flowering. On it it is necessary to make a small cut, which should be sprinkled with a stimulator of root formation and wrapped in moss. The latter must be constantly wet. After about 45 days, the shoot is separated, the flowers and leaves are removed from it, and then put in a separate pot. As you can see, for such a plant, as brugmansiya, planting and leaving are quite elementary. The main thing - in the future, regularly spray the shoot with warm water. The root system appears on it approximately in three weeks. After this, you can perform a transplant to a permanent place.

When cuttings are used, annual shoots from the crown. Their length should be about 20 cm. The process usually starts in May. The cuttings are placed in water and defended in a well-lit place. Approximately 15 days later, they will have rootlets. When they grow 5 cm, the brugmansii saplings are sent to separate pots filled with light soil, half consisting of peat and one-fourth of perlite and sand. If the temperature is constantly over 20 degrees - in less than a month the cuttings will take root.

The best place in the garden for this shrub is an open solar area, protected from winds. Water it in hot weather should be daily, and in overcast - if the soil dries. In severe drought, it is recommended to periodically spray leaves in the evening. The main thing is that moisture does not fall on the flowers. You can not allow the stagnation of water, because it can lead to decay of the root system. In autumn, the plant should be moved to a room with good light. Watering is not necessary for him as intense as in the summer. The best option for wintering is a place by the window in a warm greenhouse.
