Pressure gauges for measuring pressure

Pressure gauges are devices (devices) intended for gauging of indicators of pressure of gas, a liquid. Devices are classified into several types, depending on the characteristics. Before choosing pressure gauges, it is necessary to familiarize yourself with the features of their use.

Selection of instruments according to the range of measured pressure

- Manometer. The instrument serves to measure the positive difference between the absolute pressure and barometric pressure in the range from 0.06 to 1000 MPa.

- Heavy gauge. Measures vacuum to 40 kPa.

- The vacuum gauge. It serves to measure the pressure below ambient (atmospheric) to 100 kPa.

- Narotimer. Measures a slight overpressure (up to 40 kPa).

- Tractor. The limits of measurement correspond to an interval from -20 to + 20 kPa.

- The manometer. This includes pressure gauges for measuring excess pressure (from 60 to 240,000 kPa), as well as vacuum gauge (up to - 100 kPa).

- Differential pressure gauges. The device is designed for measuring the difference in pressure.

The most used are differential and absolute pressure devices. Differential devices (pressure gauges) for measuring pressure show a difference of two quantities. Absolute gauges show value regardless of pressure fluctuations in the atmosphere.

Characteristics, designs of manometers

Pressure gauges are divided into several types, depending on the design and structure of the instruments: liquid, piston, deformation with a membrane, deformation with a tubular spring (with a Bourdon tube). The part enables to measure the pressure of a high degree of accuracy.

In medicine, membrane pressure gauges are used. They are most environmentally clean, no worse than mercury in quality.

Pressure gauges for measuring gas pressure are very common. They consist of a housing in which the meters are located. Instruments are installed in compressors, pumps, gas equipment. Gas manometers are accurate in the testimony.

Manometers of any kind are classified according to their accuracy. The smaller the digit, the better the value. The accuracy classes are as follows: 0,15; 0.25; 0.4; 0.6; 1.0; 1.5; 2.5; 4.0.

Sphere of application of manometers

The manometers have many uses. They are electrocontact, general technical, reference, with a recorder, special purpose.

- Electrocontact manometers are used to monitor and measure pressure in liquid, gaseous, non-corrosive environments.

- General technical manometers are used to measure the pressure of steam, gas, liquid.

- Standard pressure gauges have a high accuracy. They check and calibrate other devices. Basically, they are installed on the load-bearing devices.

- Manometers with a recorder record the pressure reading on a special vehicle mechanism.

- Special purpose gauges provide the necessary environmental conditions. These include: oxygen (blue), acetylene (white), hydrogen (gray-green hue) devices. Different colors are needed to avoid negative consequences. For example, oxygen devices must be degreased, otherwise an explosion may occur if the contaminated device contacts a clean oxygen source.

A manometer for measuring fuel pressure can be used in various industries. Choosing the device, you should know that a quality product can only be purchased from a well-known manufacturer, with a worldwide reputation. The manufacturer must have a license for the right to issue goods, a certificate of quality. This is a very important fact. After all, measuring instruments are used in complex technological and production processes. And on them depends the safety of the progress of work and the quality of the final product.
