The initiator of this holiday was Svetlana Medvedeva, and she also proposed to create a symbol in the form of chamomile. For the popularity of the holiday to grow, in many cities of Russia, temples and monuments are built in honor of the famous wonderworkers Peter and Fevronia.

The very first monument was erected in the city of Arkhangelsk, then in Murom, Ulyanovsk, Yaroslavl, etc. The temple of the faithful princes Peter and Fevronia can be found not only in Murom, but also in Kaliningrad, Samara, Perm, Izhevsk, Peterhof and many other Russian Cities and villages.

Briefly about Peter and Fevronia

The history of the life of this righteous couple has existed for many centuries in the popular belief and even turned into a legend. If you tell this story very briefly, then once, a long time ago the city of Murom was ruled by Prince Pavel. And so the Serpent in the vestments of Prince Paul himself began to arrive at his wife and tempt her. Cope with the Serpent Paul was helped by his brother Peter, who found a sword in the church temple Agrikov and pierced the horrible Serpent. Dying, he splattered with his poisonous blood of Peter, after which he fell seriously ill.

No doctor took up his healing. However, he was able to cure a Ryazan healer named Fevronia, who, however, for her service, demanded that Peter take her as his wife. In the end, it happened - when the prince was cured, they played a wedding and after Paul's death began to gloriously reign in the city of Murom.

But the restless boyars disliked the commoner and decided to expel Fevronia. However, Pavel did not abandon his wife and left with her. As soon as they broke the tent on the bank of the river to rest and then move on, the boyars immediately ran after them and begged them to return, as the cruel war for the throne began.

Then Peter and Fevronia had to return again. And from that moment on, everyone has begun to live peacefully and happily.

Peter and Fevronia grew old, took monastic vows and began to pray that they would die together in one day. And then they gave orders to the brethren and the sets to bury them together in a pre-prepared coffin.

So it happened. They went to the Lord one day, but the monks did not bury them together, but arranged their coffins for the night in different monasteries and even set up a guard, but in the morning Peter and Fevronia were in an incredibly incredible way in one coffin. And so it was repeated twice, after which it was decided to bury them together.
