"Nurofen syrup"

Nurofen is a trademark of a series of painkillers produced by the multinational corporation Reckitt Benckiser (preparations of this corporation are produced in the territories of more than 60 countries). All of them are analgesics, which have anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects. Produced in the form of tablets, drops, capsules, gel, suspension, syrup, candles. The active substance in them is ibuprofen, which belongs to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and belongs to the group of phenylpropionic acid derivatives. Conditions for safe use and the mechanism of action of ibuprofen are well studied, the effectiveness of the drug has been clinically tested, it is included in the list of the most important medicines of WHO.

For internal reception is intended "Nurofen syrup" with orange or strawberry taste. This medication contains 100 mg of active substance in 5 ml of the preparation. Syrups are packaged in dark bottles with a capacity of 100 or 200 ml, which are packed (1 pc.) Into cardboard boxes.

"Nurofen syrup" for children refers to analgesics, has antipyretic effect, is a nonsteroidal antirheumatic drug. The ibuprofen contained in the syrup relieves pain, has an anti-inflammatory effect and reduces the fever. Ibuprofen prevents the production of certain substances in the body (more precisely, it inhibits biosynthesis from arachidonic acid of prostaglandins E and F), which provoke pain, fever and inflammation. The drug "Nurofen Syrup" helps relieve minor pain or moderate pain, for example, such as:

- Head,

- tooth,

- in the ear and in the throat,

- in connection with teething,

- Postoperative pain,

- due to injuries of soft tissues.

The drug "Nurofen syrup" facilitates a fever caused by a cold or flu, and is also a consequence of vaccination. The medication is intended for children from 3 months to 12 years.

An analogue of the sweet form of the drug is the "Nurofen for children". This is the same "Nurofen syrup", but in the form of a suspension of ibuprofen. It does not contain alcohol, sugar (can be given to children with diabetes), dyes. Suspension of the syrup-like consistency is intended for oral administration. Its color is white, has the smell of an orange or strawberry. In addition to 100 mg of ibuprofen, 5 ml of the preparation contain auxiliary substances: water, maltitol syrup, glycerol, sodium saccharinate, sodium citrate, citric acid, sodium chloride, orange or strawberry flavor, polysorbate, xanthan gum, domephene bromide. Suspension is permitted for over-the-counter use at the age of 3 months.

With great care and under the supervision of a doctor, the drug "Nurofen" is prescribed for children from 3 to 6 months. Instruction for use contains a warning about possible side effects of the drug, lists contraindications. Nurofen is not prescribed for children younger than 6 months of age, who have an increased sensitivity to the ingredients of the drug, as well as in the presence of diseases of the digestive tract, blood diseases (hemophilia, leukopenia, reduced folding). With an overdose, nausea, loss of consciousness, headache and heart rhythm disturbance are possible. If side effects occur, stop taking the medication and seek medical advice.

For children over 12 years of age and adults, a quick-acting drug called Nurofen Express is prescribed: they are tablets in a shell containing 200 mg of ibuprofen and are available in blisters of 6 or 12 pcs packed in cardboard packs of 1 or 2 blisters. Painful conditions:

- headache,

- backache,

- cold and flu symptoms,

- febrile state,

- toothache,

- neuralgia,

- a migraine,

- muscular and rheumatic pains.

The regimen of taking and dosage of the drug is prescribed by the doctor individually depending on the established diagnosis and the patient's state of health.
