'Nolicin'. Instructions for use, contraindications

The drug, belonging to the clinical and pharmacological group of antibacterial fluoroquinolones, tablets "Nolitsin" coated, have an orange color, biconvex, round, with a notch on one side.

Norfloxacin - the active substance - in the tablet is 400 mg. From the auxiliary there are the following:

- talcum powder;

- sodium starch glycolate;

- titanium dioxide;

- Povidone;

Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose;

Propylene glycol;

- magnesium stearate.

The antimicrobial drug "Nolitsin", the instruction of which contains information about the indications, has a wide scope. This includes various infectious inflammatory diseases that are caused by microorganisms that are sensitive to the drug. Namely such infections:

- Sexual organs;

- urinary tract;

- GIT;

- gonococcal;

- traveler's diarrhea. The drug is also prescribed as a preventive measure against syphilis.

Practice shows the high activity of the drug "Nolitsin", the instruction refers to such species of bacteria (Gram-negative) as Salmonella, Escherichia coli, Proteus, Morganella morgani, Shigella, Klebsiella spp, Serratia marcescens, Enterobacter, Haemophilus influenzae, Providencia, Yersinia enterocolitica, Pseudomonas aeruginosa . In addition, Gram-positive bacteria Staphylococcus spp and microorganisms are derivatives of beta-lactamases. Streptococcus and anaerobic bacteria are resistant to the drug "Nolitsin", the instruction indicates a low degree of activity with respect to Enterococcus, Acinetobacter.

The course of treatment is usually up to 2 weeks, if necessary, prolong it for a longer period.

Absorption of the drug occurs quickly, but not completely, only up to 40%, a maximum of a couple of hours is reached the highest concentration, eventually up to 67% of the active substance penetrates into the tissues of the body. In the gallbladder, liver, bile ducts, prostate gland and kidneys, the concentration of "Nolycin" is higher than in plasma.

The drug is withdrawn for a maximum of 6.5 hours, up to 80% through the kidneys in its original form, and the remainder is also excreted through the intestine. About 12 hours antimicrobial action lasts.

Not all patients are eligible for Nolicin, contraindications apply to pregnant women, if the patient is under 18 years of age, nursing women, patients with increased sensitivity to norfloxacin.

Epilepsy patients with great caution should take "Nolitsin", the instruction also warns of special indications for patients with kidney failure, with convulsions. Patients should be given a lot of fluid, coagulability of the blood should be monitored during surgical interventions. This is due to an increase in the prothrombin index.

Do not abuse the sun during treatment with "Nolycin", if pain occurs in the tendons, when the symptom of tendovaginitis appears, the drug should be discontinued. Do not also resort to strong physical stress, both during treatment and immediately after its termination. If the course of treatment is carried out together with "Cyclosporin" and "Theophylline", continuous monitoring of their content in the blood plasma is necessary.

With regard to such drugs as iron preparations, sucralfate, zinc and antacid preparations, they should be taken only 2 hours after Nolitsin. Dairy products and yoghurt contribute to the reduction of drug adsorption, so they should be taken for food several hours before or after taking the drug.

Do not prescribe it to children, adolescents, because the medicine does not fully understand its effect on the young organism and its negative impact on articular cartilage is not ruled out.

Sometimes an overdose of "Nolycin" is possible, the symptoms are the following: vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, in more severe cases, dizziness, convulsions and confusion may occur. Treatment includes symptomatic therapy, gastric lavage and sufficient drinking.
