"Nissan Avenir": a brief description of two generations of Japanese wagon

"Nissan Avenir" is a station wagon, which was produced by the Japanese automaker for 15 years. In 1990, the first model was released, and in 2005 - the last. This model was based on the platform of the "Nissan Examples" of the second generation. The novelty of the early 90's quickly became popular, because its key features were efficiency, powerful engines, four-wheel drive and increased throughput.

About the first generation

Initially, "Nissan Avenir" in the body of the W10 was aggregated by engines with a volume of 1.6 and 1.8 liters, respectively. But these engines were under the hoods of front-wheel drive versions. But there were still models with four active wheels. Under their hood were put 2-liter engines. And cargo modifications were aggregated exclusively by motors on 1.6 l.

Interestingly, the front-drive models of Nissan Avenir were offered either with a 4-speed "automatic" or with a 5-speed "mechanics". In principle, other cars were equipped with the same transmissions. However, for all-wheel drive models, the "mechanic" could boast of an electrovacuum inclusion of the rear axle. A "machine" had a permanent connection, carried out through a viscous coupling.

Diesel engines

Interestingly, 3 years after the start of production, a turbo-diesel engine was added to the line. "Nissan Avenir" with such a motor became quickly popular. The 2-liter unit produced 91 hp. And was very economical.

And then, in 1995, there was a model under the brand name Salut. Under the hood of this all-wheel-drive car installed a 210-strong turbodiesel. This model could be completed only with "automatic". It is interesting that such a Nissan Avenir came out almost at the same time, along with its rival, which was the Subaru Legacy GT.

The second generation

In 1998, the world was presented with a new "Avenir" in the body of W11. Significant changes occurred. There was a rear multi-link suspension, which gave the model excellent stability on the road and excellent handling. Particular attention was drawn to such structural elements as the 4WD Atessa system, as well as a completely new CVT-M6 transmission.

The diesel unit CD20ET was offered exclusively with a 4-speed "automatic". But more interesting is that new cars began to be equipped with a powerful 230-horsepower engine equipped with a turbo.

These were the main changes. Later, of course, the model underwent a small restyling. For example, in 2000, models with increased clearance and larger wheels began to come out. But gradually the demand for the station wagon began to fall. Subaru Legacy was more popular. And therefore in 2005 the issue was decided to be discontinued.

Owner Comments and Costs

"Nissan Avenir" was not supplied for export to Russia. However, many owners of this car live on the territory of our country. Many brought here the station wagon themselves. People say that this is a good and reliable car that will be an excellent assistant to those people who are engaged in farming or go on a short trip. Thanks to the large luggage compartment it is possible to load a lot of overall things.

Still this car easily starts in minus temperature. The car is quite powerful and economical: about 10 liters of gasoline per 100 km pass somewhere in the city. Another happy solid, "not killed" suspension and a thrusty engine. Care is extremely simple: you need to regularly change filters, oil (every 8-9 thousand kilometers) and candles (every 30,000 km). Here are some of these "Nissan Avenir" reviews.

By the way, even now you can find this station wagon on sale by ads. And in a good condition. The model of the year 2000 will cost about 200 thousand rubles (with a 1.8-liter 130-horsepower engine). In principle, there are options for both more and less expensive. But in any case, before buying it is worth checking the car for the service station. The car is not new, therefore, before the conclusion of the transaction, it is necessary to find out what injuries it has.
