New Lviv Airport: information and photos

Lviv is the largest city in Western Ukraine. He always attracted tourists with his hospitality, cosiness and a lot of attractions. Just getting into the city through the air was not easy. The old terminal could not provide a sufficient level of service and simply could not cope with just a few flights a day.

Everything has changed, thanks to the reception of Euro 2012. By the beginning of the matches in the city, a new stadium and terminal of the terminal had been built, fully meeting modern standards of comfort and safety. Now it is available to all comers, and the airport Lviv can be called one of the adornments of the city.

Terminals of the Lvov air port

Since the opening of the new terminal A, held on April 12, 2012, all domestic and international flights have been transferred to it. The area of the complex is 39 thousand square meters. The terminal has 28 check-in counters, 2 self-check-in counters, 18 passport control points, 9 exit entrances, 4 of which are equipped with teletraps. At the moment, Lviv (the airport) is responsible for all modern requirements, the photo of the building is proof of this.

Terminal 1 building is temporarily closed. The possibility of its restoration and arrangement under Vip-passengers is considered. This is an interesting idea, because the structure has an interesting architecture, inside the hall walls and the ceiling are painted with paintings. In any case, all services of control, registration, reception and delivery of luggage will have to be completely replaced.

Infrastructure of the terminal

The first thing that catches your eye when you enter the building is the bust of Prince Danil Romanovich Halytsky. It was in his honor to name the renovated airport Lviv. Many locals continue to call the Sknilov Airport.

The zones of arrival and departure are combined, throughout the first floor you can move freely. After registration, you need to go up to the second floor, where there are passport and customs control zones, a duty-free shop and waiting rooms. In the store Duty Free you can buy alcoholic beverages, souvenirs, toilet water, cosmetics, children's products.

One of the best souvenirs for the memory of the city can be a product made of chocolate. It can be purchased in a store from a well-known Lviv workshop, located on the first floor. It sells a lot of figures from different types of chocolate, there are real sweet cards.

You can have a snack in the cafe on the ground floor, after registration you can go to the restaurant on the second floor or a small sushi bar.

Lviv (airport): how to reach

From the city center to the new terminal there is a shuttle bus №48, the fare is 4 hryvnia (12 rubles). You can also take the trolleybus # 9, which runs along the University-Airport route, to the old terminal and walk the remaining distance on foot (5-7 minutes). Trolleybus ticket will cost only 2 hryvnia (6 rubles).

A taxi ride from the center will be 50 UAH. (150 rubles). To catch a car on the street is unprofitable: the price will increase two times. It is better to travel from anywhere in the city to the busy intersection of Lubinskaya and Vyhovsky streets, and from there the remaining two stops take the 48 bus.
