Kazakh currency: description and photo

Kazakhstan is one of the last countries that left the USSR. And the newly independent state required its own national monetary units. The Kazakh currency is called "tenge". It was put into use on November 15, 1993.

History

Tenge received its name from Turkic medieval coins made of silver: "tanga" or "dengue". It was from them that the very word "money" happened. The modern Kazakh currency has continued the ancient history of the cities of Taraz and Otrar. It was in them in the 13th century that coins were minted.

The first national money of Kazakhstan was printed by the British company Harrison and Sons. This required a special factory. At that time, it was not in Kazakhstan. It was opened only in 1995. Currency design

Banknotes in 1, 3 and 5 tenge have dimensions of 124 x 62 mm. The color of the front side is blue, gray-green and brown. All banknotes are marked with watermarks with Kazakh ornament. On the bills on the left, under the denomination, is an ornamental drawing. In the center of the bills are depicted various famous figures, formulas, landscapes and architectural structures.

The Kazakh currency with the value of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 tenge has the dimensions of 144 x 69 mm. All bills are made on white high-quality paper. The design of banknotes of each type of denomination is different, as are their colors.

Denominations of denomination in 5000 tenge have a size of 149 x 74 mm. They are printed on white paper. The colors are dominated by purple and brown colors. On the front side is a portrait of the famous philosopher. To the left of it are watermarks. Through the banknote the metalized thread is stretched, on which is printed the figure 5000 and there is the inscription "Kazakhstan". This bill has additional elements of protection against counterfeits.

In 2006 the Kazakh currency of a new type came into use. Protection was improved and design was redesigned. The color palette and the size of the banknotes have changed. This allows you to navigate the bills unmistakably. All banknotes are made in one style. On the front side - a vertical image and horizontal on the reverse. Baiterek is one of the symbols of Kazakhstan.

Now in the state use there are banknotes of six advantages - from 200 to 10,000 tenge. Coins have 7 denominations - from 1 to 100 tenge. In parallel with conventional metal money collectible, jubilee coins are minted. They are made of nickel silver, silver and gold. For example, in 2009 the coin "Golden Leopard" was issued. It is made of gold (999.9 samples and face value of 500 tenge) and weighs 5 ounces.

How does the Kazakh currency relate to the ruble? In relation to Soviet money, the tenge in 1993 was 1: 500. Now the rate to the ruble is 5: 1, and the dynamics are practically unchanged.
