Is a tomato tree a myth or a reality?

In our country a huge number of summer residents grow tomatoes. The standard planting of a tomato allows harvesting in one centner with 30-50 bushes. However, there is a technology that makes it possible to get so many tomatoes from just two bushes. This method of cultivation was called "tomato tree". Growth Technology

In order to grow a tomato tree, you need to pick up an old barrel. To the excess water freely removed, and earthworms could easily get inside, the bottom of the barrel must be removed.

For better access of oxygen to the root system in the sides, it is drilled holes at a distance of about twenty Centimeters from each other.

The prepared barrel is placed on the most sunny place in the garden. Then it is filled with soil in a certain way. A layer of ergas with a thickness of about 10 centimeters is laid down. Urgasa is a microbiological fertilizer and consists of vegetable waste, organic raw materials treated with microorganisms, with the addition of minerals and wood ash. As the next layer is used soil mixture consisting in equal proportions of compost, turf and garden lands. The height of the two layers should not be more than one-third the height of our barrel.

In the first of May in the center of the barrel we plant the selected seedling of a tomato. Before the end of night frosts, the future tomato tree should be covered with cellophane.

Once the seedling has survived, we proceed to develop a strong root system. To do this, cut off all the leaves at a height of ten centimeters. We are waiting for the wounds to dry a little, then cover with a layer of soil mixture. When the tomato tree grows by another ten centimeters, repeat the procedure. Thus we proceed until the barrel is completely filled with soil. It will happen in about a month and a half.

Since that moment, the tomato tree can not be harbored. It is also important during this period to stop pasynkovanie. On the contrary, one should strive to ensure that the plant has as many brushes as possible. The lower branches can safely hang from the barrel, the upper branches should be tied up so that the plant receives as much light as possible.

It is important to provide the plant with copious watering. In this case, do not be afraid To overdo it, because excess moisture will go to the soil through the missing bottom.

Once a week the plant needs to be fed. To do this, fill one part of the compost with two parts of water, stir it, insist the day. With this mixture and water our tomato tree.

Since the beginning of the autumn frosts on top of the tree you can throw a film, then it will be able to stand until the end of September.
