The disease "gingivitis" is caused by inflammatory processes in the mucosa of the gums, which, under the influence of internal and external factors, can develop in adults, but is more common in children, the teenagers are particularly at risk of disease at the stage of rapid growth.

In a more adult person, the onset of the disease occurs for the same external reasons as for babies, but smoking, unsuccessful seals, infections and chemical irritants can be attached to them. The process of origin of infectious gingivitis unites all age categories, they can arise under condition of absence of proper hygiene.

Internal causes of the disease include the growing teeth in children, which involuntarily injure the gum. Negative influence is exerted by gastric diseases, decreased function of the immune system, distorted bite and insufficient intake of vitamins.

The wide spread of childhood disease "gingivitis", the symptoms of which are manifested fairly quickly, was noticed in children suffering from rheumatic and tuberculous complications. To internal factors of influence on the occurrence of gingivitis, medicine includes severe forms of diabetes mellitus, hepatic and chronic diseases, nephropathy.

One of the reasons for the formation of inflammatory processes in the gums in an adult person may well be the prolonged use of medications for oral contraception. The use of elements of heavy metals with food or medical products, contributes to the development of dental disease "gingivitis", the symptoms of which are characterized as an inflammatory process that has arisen on the gum areas in the field of several teeth or one. It should be noted that even if there is no chronic inflammatory focus in the body, there is a huge risk of developing the disease.

Types of gingivitis and their signs

The most common and commonly occurring of the dental group is "catarrhal gingivitis", accompanied by bleeding when eating, its first symptoms are manifested as redness and swelling of the gingival membrane. Such an inflammatory condition of the gums, appears in infants during teething.

Ulcerative necrotic gingivitis, the symptoms of its manifestation are expressed by the ulcerous condition of the gingival mucosa, the onset of necrosis. Signs of ulcerative-necrotic gingivitis often occur when the form of catarrhal gingivitis is advanced. The main causes of the development of the disease are in the reduction of immune system functions, vitamin deficiency and violation of the diet regime.

The cause of hypertrophic gingivitis is most often a violation of metabolic functions and hormonal imbalance of the body. The disease takes a chronic course, accompanied by signs in which the mucous membrane of the gum proliferates and the bleeding of the gums increases . Exacerbation of the chronic form occurs mainly in the winter and spring months, is more common in an adult.

Dentists do not recommend treating the disease so that it can be eliminated by itself. In addition to the main treatment prescribed by the doctor, it is necessary to prevent gingivitis with the means that effectively disinfect the oral cavity.
