The first months of life in Chicago became a real test for a young man, since he had not studied English before. However, the Bulldog quickly mastered a foreign language, learning to joke and on it.

At the age of 16 Garik became a pupil of the famous school-theater "Harendt", being the only Russian. As a student, he constantly played in amateur productions, most of which were musicals.
