How to paste wallpaper on the ceiling

The use of wallpaper for finishing the ceiling is a wonderful alternative to painting and has long been actively used in finishing the room.
This is due to the fact that it requires relatively less financial and time-consuming, and thus the result of the work looks aesthetically attractive. Pasting of the ceiling with wallpaper is an excellent variant of decorating the room. Wallpaper on the ceiling can be used not only the traditional white color, but also various other colors, with a pattern or photo printing. Their texture (smooth, embossed or embossed) will also help supplement the interior. It is worth noting that such wallpaper will look spectacular and on one of the walls, and the rest is better to make monophonic. Also, the decor of the walls in a small room should not be overloaded with large patterns or contrasting color combinations.

The wallpaper, which will be glued to the ceiling, should be strong light and moisture resistant. Before you paste the wallpaper on the ceiling, it must first be carefully prepared: remove the old finish, fill in the irregularities and cracks (if any), walk through the "skin" and then the primer. As a primer you can use wallpaper paste. Tip: the old wallpaper is easier to remove if you cut them with a spatula and moisten with soapy water, and the lime, moistened with hot water with a flute, is much easier to wash off the surface of the ceiling. Cutting the wallpaper is done before starting work. The length of the sheets should be taken with a margin of about 5-10 cm to the final size. If you use wallpaper on the ceiling with a picture, you need to cut it so that it matches. A more suitable adhesive for wallpaper is indicated on the roll package.

Next, you need to make the markings on the ceiling for the sheets, and then apply the adhesive directly onto the wallpaper sheets. Adhesive is correctly applied to the middle of the sheet, distributing evenly along the entire length. Particular care should be taken to coat the corners and allow the glue to penetrate. The ends are bent into the inner part. It is worth noting that if the wallpaper is thick, then the adhesive is applied in two layers. If non-woven wallpaper is used on the ceiling, the glue is applied directly to it.

Sticky it is better to do it together. One man holds still a non-glued canvas, and the second one puts it to the ceiling and straightens it. When the wallpaper sheet is glued to the surface, it is smoothed from the middle to the edges with a special brush. The next sheet is glued, focusing on the edges of the previous one.

At the junction of the surface of the ceiling and the wall, the edge of the wallpaper is pressed against the uneven side of the scissors and slightly retracted. This will determine the line cut off the excess part. In the places where the withdrawal is planned under the lighting device, a cross-cut is made.

After the wallpaper on the ceiling is pasted, try to avoid drafts in the room.
