How to make kanzashi-barrettes: a master class for beginners

Fashion for original jewelry and accessories will always exist. The modern trend is the style of hand-made. Very spectacular and fabulously beautiful things look like those made in Kansas technique: barrettes, rims, brooches. It is not difficult to make such an ornament. In addition, it does not require expensive materials. Simple tips will help create an original hair ornament that is right for you.

Materials

To make kanzashi hair clips, you will need the following:

• The frame (the base) that you buy specifically or take from an unnecessary decoration.
• Satin ribbons (color and width - at your discretion). You can use a suitable cloth.
• Scissors.
• Ruler (it is more convenient to measure workpieces).
• Lighter, a candle for processing the edges and joining the layers of the workpiece.
• Tweezers, clamp, forceps.
• Threads with a needle.
• Thermal gun.
• Decor (beads, beads).

So, nothing special is used. Tapes are available and inexpensive. If there is no thermo gun, you can do without it.

How to add simple elements?

To make beautiful kanzashi-hairpins, it is enough to master just one simple way of making parts.

Blanks can be made single-layer, two- and three-layer. These balls are better to combine from different in color ribbons, and if there is a suitable fabric, then with the squares of it. Size choose at your discretion.

To make single petals, work like this:

1. Cut the squares from the ribbon.
2. Process the slices above the flame (blend the edges).
3. Fold the square in half.
4. The resulting triangle is folded twice in half.
5. Fuse the lower edge in the flame and firmly connect with a clamp or tweezers, so that the layers of the petal completely fused along the lower boundary.

How to make a petal of several squares?

To make a double or triple lobe, proceed as follows:

1. Cut the desired number of squares. For one petal - 2 or 3 respectively. You can use ribbons of the same width, then you will have to cut the lower boundary of the workpiece in the future. If you immediately take squares of different sizes, you do not need to do this.
2. Fold each square separately in half. And again this way - all the triangles obtained.
3. Place the prepared parts one on top of another in accordance with the size (larger - smaller).
4. Fold the prepared multi-layered structure in half.
5. Fuse the bottom edge of the part, having processed a flame of a candle or lighters and having pressed tweezers. If the lower border is uneven (the ribbons were the same size), first trim it with scissors.

Hairpins-Kanzas: it's easy to make your own hands !

The most simple decorations are easy to make on the basis of invisibles in the form of a flower.

The sequence of execution is:

1. Prepare the right amount of single, double or triple petals made according to the technology described above.
2. If you prefer petals that resemble the shape of a ringlet, cut the bottom corners from the blanks.
3. Connect in series all the petals in a circle, using threads (fishing line) with a needle, a thermo-gun or fusing blanks with heat treatment.
4. Cut out a cardboard circle in size or slightly less than the base (back side) of the flower.
5. Cut a larger diameter circle from the fabric or ribbon than the cardboard part.
6. Place the cardboard blank on the underside of the fabric and use a needle with a thread around the edge of the circle to draw along the contour.
7. Glue the prepared part with cardboard to the flower. The reverse side of the flower turned neat and dense. There is no gluing between the petals.
8. Apply the glue to the hairpin and press the flower to it.
9. After drying decorate the front side: glue in the center of the bead, in the middle of each petal you can paste a teardrop pearl. Put on the tips of the petals gel with sparkles or nail polish.
10. The second such hairpin (usually they are made paired) are made similarly.

Hairpins-kanzashi: master-class

A more complex, even asymmetric design, can be made on the basis of a barrette, metal or rubberized insert.

Work like this:

1. The main element is the same flower as for small hairpins. Make all the petals and connect them to the flower according to the technology described above. In different clips you can change the number, the size of the petals, the combination of single and multi-layered parts.
2. In this case, the base in the form of a circle for a flower can be omitted, but it will be necessary to make a substrate strip made according to the size of the hairpin. This element of the carcass will be made similar to the circle. However, do not take too much cardboard, if you need to glue the decor on an arc-shaped surface.
3. To create a beautiful hair clip from ribbons ("kanzash"), in addition to the central flower, perform a few smaller ones, but on the same principle.
4. Place the smaller flowers symmetrically or asymmetrically relative to the central one.
5. Execute the elements in the form of leaves and twigs. Place them on the right and left of the center.
6. Use additional decor made of beads, feathers and other suitable elements.
