How to make buffers? Master-class in several variants

To give the interior a novelty and shade of chic, it is not necessary to buy too expensive fabric for sewing, for example, new curtains or to replace the furniture cover. You can apply an unusual technique for creating bulk products - buffers. Consider how you can use this decor element.

The article describes how to get smart and unique curtains and bedspreads. The buffers in each example are different in appearance and, accordingly, manufacturing technology.

Materials used for buffers

The main distinguishing feature in the performance of almost all types of this decorative element is an increase of 2-2.5 times the consumption of tissue. This is due to lush assemblies and corrugation. The same principle is followed, and, for example, the master-class "Bedcover" presented below. The buffers of this not very assembled product in finished form were half as wide as the original fabric. And in cases of dense weaving you need to have a triple stock of material. Marking is done from the wrong side. If the pattern is collected on the face, then usually the place of tightening is decorated with beads or clusters of beads.

Using Schemas

It is necessary to carry out work strictly according to the planned drawings of the ornament. Most of the patterns involve a backing of the fabric. In this case, the most accurate buffers are obtained. The master class, as a rule, is always accompanied by a corresponding scheme. It is transferred to a fabric, which is preliminarily delineated into squares. Experienced needlewomen miss this moment and are content only with the points transferred from the drawings by puncturing, and marks with the direction of movement. The main secret of the work is the skilful alternating tension of the threads and the beautiful drapery of the fabric.

How are big buffets made? Master-class of the pattern "Pletenko" for the cover

Let us examine how this most commonly used ornament is performed:

1. Mark the canvas from the wrong side to squares with a side of 3 cm.

2. Apply slanting lines, skipping cells in a strict alternation (see diagram).

3. Start work from the leftmost vertical row, moving in a zigzag pattern.

4. Pierce the fabric in place of the first crease and secure with a stitch.

5. The second puncture is done at the end of the line, pull the thread and secure with a repeated puncture.

6. Pass the loose cells and place the thread on them, without stretching, until the next marked strip. Repeat the contraction step to obtain a buffer.

7. In the same way, go through all the rows, connecting the fabric only in those places where it is marked according to the scheme.

How to make removable buffers? Master class decorating simple curtains

Perhaps you do not plan to completely replace all elements of the interior. Or, for example, the curtains look pretty decent, but boring. What should I do in this case? Decorate the canvas with removable parts. To do this, take a strip of color matching the color, having a length equal to the width of the curtain. When cutting, you need to consider the tailoring technology. Such a magnificent finish is best done double, so that the internal seams do not have to be processed. As a rule, in the cross-section measurement, in the finished form, usually not less than 15-20 cm. So, it needs to be cut about 30-45 cm wide. The trim is sewn on the bottom edge of the curtain. Bufs are obtained by assembling after 12-15 cm. Very original combination of this decor element with others - contrast fabric, lace , etc., looks.

Fabrication of curtains

For the unusual decoration of windows with curvy short curtains, it's very easy to make beautiful buffets on them. The master class, described below, is presented as an example instruction:

1. Measure the window to determine the width and the required length of the curtains.

2. Make the necessary calculations. For splendor, it is necessary to take a triple width and a triple height from the original one.

3. If necessary, join the cuts of the fabric along vertical lines.

4. Tighten the curtains from all sides, having formed the upper part for fastening on the cornice.

5. Mark off the wrong side of the vertical lines, which will be collected buffers. In these places, at the same intervals (approximately 20-25 cm), attach narrow fabric bikes.

6. Insert in them through and through the top to the bottom thin ribbons, simultaneously collecting cloth and forming beautiful folds.

7. After obtaining the desired shapes, fix the beaks from the inside, cutting off excess length.

Application of the idea in the manufacture of furniture

In this case, it is not entirely appropriate to use some technologies. After all, you see, decorating furniture with elements with very luxuriant assemblies is not very practical. More successful is the creation of an almost smooth surface, but with significant bulges. For this, prepare the material for the top, for a magnificent interlayer and a base.

The work can be carried out in two ways: directly tightening the finish of the furniture cover, or making a separate cloth and further fixing it. And how are the buffers obtained? With their own hands, they will need to be carried out separately by squeezing lush layers. Usually, large decorative buttons or folded pieces of fabric are used for this. Therefore, all the same it is better to choose the first option - fixing the canvas on the furniture surface with the creation of magnificent buffers in the required places.

Using some decorative elements allows you to create a unique design of the premises. But always remember that a sense of taste and measure never hurts. Good luck and creative ideas!
