How to draw a wild boar in a naturalistic way? Practical advice.

A boar is not at all a nice pet pet like a pig. Although many children and even some adults are convinced that he is just "her husband." No, it's not like that at all. The animal is wild, which, of course, affects its character, appearance. Therefore, in order to understand how to draw a wild boar, you must first look closely at it.

Let's get acquainted with the boar closer

If it occurred to a person to capture on a piece of paper a threatening fan of acorns, then it is absolutely necessary for him to first study the structure of the body and habits of this inhabitant of dense forests. This is necessary to ensure that its image is as reliable as possible.

Boars have a short and powerful neck, a pointed head in the form of a wedge, and not very long legs. The front of the body is much larger than the back. On the upper anterior part of the back, the bristles form a likeness of the mane with the crest. The ears are wide and long, the eyes are small, and the snout is propelled forward. In males, the lower fangs that grow upward stand out. Despite its predominantly vegetarian diet, the disposition of boars is rather nasty, and the character is tough and uncontrollable.

The first preparatory steps

Having studied the structure and habits of the animal, the artist, as a rule, begins to think about what and how to draw a wild boar? Pencil is much faster and easier, especially since the image can be painted later. So, it's better to start with a few straight lines - they are called axial artists, so that the drawing will later appear symmetrical and proportional.

At the preparatory stage, it is important to establish the dimensions of the image of the wild boar, and to draw one of the lines horizontally, as if delineating the lower boundary on which the boar will be.

How to draw a boar in stages

Finally, you can begin to draw the very image of the wild boar.

  • The body is easily represented by two circles: one large and the second smaller. The head fits perfectly into the triangle. Next, four short broken lines are drawn - the future legs of a wild boar.

  • At the next stage the animal's body is formed. In front at the top of the trunk the line smoothly protrudes upwards to emphasize the crest on the back.
  • Next, the head is drawn with all the details: wide and long ears (one ear, if the boar is drawn in profile), small eyes, a powerful and elongated snout with a pencil at the end. It is important not to forget to draw the lower fangs.
  • The next stage will be the drawing of legs and tail. In this case, it is especially important to look at a photograph or drawing of a wild boar to correctly depict the corners and the smallest details of the legs. It should be noted that the boar is a cloven-hoofed mammal, therefore, it is worth paying special attention to the duality of its hooves.

  • The drawing is almost ready, you need not forget to erase all the auxiliary and extra lines. Now you need to draw a surface on which there is a boar.
  • At the last stage, shading is applied using shading to make the boar look as plausible as possible.

Now you know how to draw a wild boar. Believe me, this is not so difficult.
