For fishing on the White Sea. Fish places

The White Sea, being a vast bay of the Arctic Ocean, is quite cold. Nevertheless, the skerries and sea spaces, as well as the amazing taiga nature attract many. People come here for privacy from the hustle and bustle of cities. Rest, fishing on the White Sea, the ear, cooked on the fire right there on the shore - which can be better to relax and gain strength.

Interesting information

This vast gulf of the Arctic Ocean is famous for quite cold water. And this is not surprising, because it is enough to imagine where the White Sea is located: it is located in the very north-west of Russia. And only due to the fact that it is deeply embedded in the mainland, its water for a short summer period sometimes has time to warm up to eighteen degrees.

Since the White Sea is surrounded on almost all sides by land, it is considered to be internal. The bottom of this comparatively small salt water body is characterized by a very complex relief. The deepest part of it is the Kandalaksha Gulf.

In the White Sea, a huge amount of fresh water is constantly supplied. As a result, its level rises, and the excess water mass along the throat, which connects it with the Barents Sea, leaves. This water exchange is very favorably influenced by frequent south-west winds. The ebb and flow of the white sea are pronounced. As a result of their complex interaction, a standing wave forms in this comparatively small internal pond.

The best time to relax

The presence of the nearby Arctic Circle explains that it is cold in the spring, sometimes there are frosts. Therefore, the best time for a trip to rest and fishing on the White Sea is July or the beginning of August. In this season, water is as warm as possible, it warms up to eighteen degrees. You can even swim, although sometimes the weather presents surprises: it can unexpectedly be blocked, often strong winds begin.

The most convenient places for those who come not only to go fishing in the White Sea, but also to rest, are Nikolskaya Bay near the village of Nizhnyaya Pulonga, as well as the village of Chkalov.

Small Karelian villages, in which guest houses are built, the availability of shops, asphalt roads - all this attracts lovers of a quiet, measured pastime, those who want not only to relax, but also go fishing. On the White Sea first come for cod, although herring and salmon are also a desired prey.

In the sea, twice a day, the tidal current is replaced by an ebb. The height of waves on average does not exceed two or three meters, and only in places close to the entrance to the Barents Sea they are sometimes twice as large. The most favorable for sporting fishing is the time that falls between the middle of the tide and the middle of the low tide. At this time, the fish particularly intensively approaches the coastal strip and most often falls on the hook.

Flora and fauna

In this sea they are much poorer than, for example, in the neighboring Barents. For comparison: in the last one on one hectare of water space you can catch fish almost five times more than in White. Specialists explain this by the fact that the climatic conditions are more stringent, besides the salt content in the water is lowered, and the winter is too harsh. And if boreal forms from the animal and vegetable worlds live closer to the surface, then at a depth of less than fifty meters, wherever the same temperature constantly keeps, there are already arctic. A cold-water relic is widely represented in this zone.

Of all the varieties of the fish of the White Sea, the fishery is primarily focused on herring, cod, salmon, saithe, flounder and navaga. The main places for their habitat are coastal zones with a maximum depth of up to thirty meters - a place where hunting is especially favorable.

Fish places

The White Sea is not homogeneous in its depths, bottom relief and salt concentration. Therefore, the distribution of fish in it is also not the same. The number of not only marine animals, but also plants is sharply reduced in highly freshened bays, such as Dvinsky, Mezensky and Onega. There are no typical representatives of sea fishes - saithees, cod, catfish, haddock, etc. But the Kandalaksha Gulf, as well as the northern shore of the White Sea, where the water is more salty are excellent places where you can fish a lot of saltwater booty. Another fishing place is the Karelian Isthmus, which is visited by many lovers of underwater hunting. This, according to many, is one of the most tranquil and beautiful places not only in the region, but also in the whole of Russia, where there is an abundance of fish and expanse for hunters. The most desirable for true lovers of underwater hunting prey is sea salmon or trout, which is caught perfectly all summer, both with spinning, and with fly fishing tackle, as well as pink salmon. The latter comes from the middle of July in places where the rivers flow into the White Sea.

The fishing offered by many tourist companies in the White Sea in summer in the coastal areas includes a full range of services. Tourists are offered everything: from accommodation and meals to services of experienced hikers-guides from local residents. They not only perfectly know each of the surrounding fishing grounds, but also guarantee an exciting and unforgettable underwater hunting.

Behind the cod

Many people go fishing on the White Sea because of this fish. Cod here is noticeably different from the usual Atlantic in size. Its weight, as a rule, is one and a half or two times smaller than the ocean sister. The length of cod, which lives in the White Sea, is not more than sixty centimeters. But even such, to put it mildly, not trophy copies do not spoil the fishermen. The largest individuals can be caught on a hook only in the deep Kandalaksha Gulf. On fishing in the White Sea for the largest cod, according to experienced hunters, you need to go there and catch it from steep rocks that go into the water. But small individuals are not badly caught in shallow water, and in places where the bottom is almost covered with stones.

Local residents distinguish between small and summer, which Pomors call "pertui", and also larger ones - winter cod, which appears on the coast only in late August - early September. The largest are caught by fishermen in the Kandalaksha Gulf, the deepest gulf of the White Sea. In the open sea, cod is better to catch near stone ridges, covered with ground laminaria or sea cabbage. Usually, such banks rising sharply above the rest of the bank dry up in their upper part after low tide. North Karelia is famous for such places that locals call cows or babies. White Sea, fishing in which, according to many professionals, is simply unique, beckons with its surrounding taiga nature and truly unforgettable rest with a fishing rod in hand.

Whitefish

This underwater inhabitant is no less than an honorable trophy than cod. Shig is found in coastal waters in the White Sea. He walks in numerous small places in the straits and lips, where he feeds on various bottom animals - sea worms, mussels, and amphipods. In August the whitefish rushes to the spawning rivers. Most of them lay eggs only two or three times in their lives.

Winterfish also hibernate in the rivers or in the estuarine desalinated zones of the sea. Anglers fish this fish, as a rule, during its spawning migrations, as well as salmon, pink salmon or sea trout, spinning or nets. In the sea, whitefish sometimes occurs during the herring or smelt. In addition to a through-view, that is, migrating to the river from the White Sea and back, there are lake and river forms that never leave fresh water. The meat of this fish is highly valued for its amazing palatability, but is especially good in white or smoked salmon.

Catfish

For this fish to go fishing to the White Sea, they often go to the Kandalaksha Gulf. It is here that one of the varieties of the Atlantic catfish lives, the length of which can reach eighty-five centimeters. For fishermen, it is like a trophy, which in value is in no way inferior to cod. The catfish has delicious and tender meat, and in July it is even possible to feast on its caviar, which tastes no worse than salmon.

The diet of this fish is quite varied. It includes crabs and mollusks, starfish and shrimps, sometimes wolffish does not shun and small fishes. This fish has excellent chewing and conical teeth, which easily grind and crush the rather strong skeletons of various echinoderms and crustaceans.

They feed the catfish with bottom gear. Since May, it can be caught even at rather insignificant depths near the shore - in the coastal waters. As for the rest of the time, it, having gone to depth, becomes quite a difficult prey. For her catching, you should only use steel or Kevlar leashes, as all the rest she easily rubs her teeth.

Flounder

There are such fish, which are especially interested in specialists studying the White Sea. Flounder is one of them. In the White Sea, there are five varieties of this fish. Three species - river, polar and ruff - belong to local forms, so they are found in almost all areas of the reservoir. Two other species - sea and flatfish-ruff - sail to White from the Barents Sea for fattening. It happens in the summer months. Flounder recommended to catch local fish with float fishing rods or tamer on small hooks. As a nozzle it is better to use worms, Nereis, which can be easily found in sandbars at low tide.

Fishing on the Karelian coast

It is not only the most beautiful, but also the most fish place of the White Sea. It is one of the most tranquil and beautiful places in Russia, where fish abound. Fans of sea hunting from the Norwegian fjords gradually began to come here . However, the greatest popularity was fishing on the Karelian coast of the White Sea for a Russian with an average income. This beach is literally teeming with tourist bases, which are primarily intended for living in an economy class, so that you can practice your favorite hobby, fishing, without much expense. In Belomorsk in the White Sea, smelt and navaga are good.

In general, fishing and recreation on the Karelian coast of this bay of the Arctic Ocean will please not only professionals. Many come here to combine family rest with your favorite pastime. It is believed that nothing brings together like a joint excitement and, of course, the expectation of a bite. At the same time swimming in the summer months in the sea like everyone: both children and parents.

Most of all come here lovers of cod fishing. In order to return with a good catch, you need to have a boat or a boat with a powerful motor, a shovel, an anchor, fifty to seventy meters of a rope, a tackle, a map, a GPS, an echo sounder. The most convenient in terms of transport access to the place on the North Karelian coast in the White Sea is Chupa. There is an opportunity to leave the car in a guarded parking lot, rent a boat, boat and even a yacht and hire a ranger who can show the most fish places for successful fishing. It must be borne in mind that to such areas it is necessary to sail on a boat along the Chupa Bay, located in the Kandalaksha Bay, deep into the White Sea for thirty or forty kilometers. Those who wish can book a fishing tour at the local yacht club, and those who are confident in their abilities and have all the necessary equipment have the opportunity to go on scuba diving independently.

Tackle

Most often, as an outfit, experienced anglers use airborne short spinnings and the Nevskaya coil - "neva". In principle, there is a good "working" and an improved donka, which is caught on the technology "on the finger." The technique of fishing is as follows: the tackle with baits descends to the bottom, then several blows are produced one after the other, after which it rises to thirty or fifty centimeters. Catching should continue with short, but intense twitching. According to this technology catch first of all cod - a notable treasured local trophy. Biting at this fish is sharp. Small animals have one or two twitchings, and then a stroke. While a large cod starts immediately with a sharp bite. In this case, after the cutting, the fisherman should not give slack, especially during catching "on the finger" or with airborne spinning.

After a few bites, it is necessary to check the presence of bait, because the cod has an amazing ability to pull it off. To reduce the number of hooks and the subsequent loss of spoon-bait during bottom fishing, single hooks are used most often. But the side spinning, which makes it possible to make small casts, is great for finding fish.

Not bad bucks cod and various jigs with silicone fishes. Using the technique of "shelling" the fishing area with long casts, it is possible to achieve very good results. However, this method of fishing has one drawback: a long rod. This makes it impossible to fit in the boat to more than two anglers.
