We will visit you on a short virtual sightseeing tour.

Novosibirsk

How many monuments in Novosibirsk? If you believe Wikipedia, then a lot, but the virtuality does not always keep up with reality. In this megapolis interesting compositions, which are an expression of the creative potential of local artists, appear quite often.

No wonder that Novosibirsk is the third largest city in the Russian Federation and the twelfth largest city in the Russian Federation.

So, let's begin our sightseeing tour.

Apartment house

This building was built in order to provide living space for workers of the regional executive committee (in those early days of 1932-35 it was called the "regional executive committee").
To this end, Professor Kryachkov was invited. He was instructed to draw up a project and conduct construction from start to finish. Wishes and final intent were as follows.

In the building should be from five to eight floors (in the end turned out eight), elevators, exterior decoration for marble chips, ceilings a minimum of three meters. The apartments were planned as follows. Twenty two-room (27 square meters of living space), thirty four-room (72 square meters), forty three-room (54 square meters) and ten five-room (81 square meters). As a result, it turned out exactly one hundred apartments.

When choosing external design and interior decoration professor guided the work of the Frenchman Perret. Also, the building was given a kind of "palace" architecture. He was separated from the avenue by a small square.

In principle, even with a cursory glance at the apartment house, you can see that he adds a major note to the composition of the whole square.

Such monuments of Novosibirsk not only adorned the city, but also won first places at international exhibitions.

Leninskiye Sights

As it turned out, there is more than one monument to Lenin in Novosibirsk. If you stroll through the streets of this wonderful city, with surprise you can find two more objects. Let's get to know them better.

So, all the sights are three: Lenin to Lenin, Lenin at the Palace of Labor and Lenin's house.

Let's go in order. The first monument was built in 1927 on the steps of the Palace of Labor, but in the 1950s it was moved to the square. The height of the monument is two and a half meters.
The second monument was created for the 100th anniversary of the birth of the leader, in 1970. It was located on the square of the same name. According to the architects, the monument complements the composition, consisting of the Opera Theater and the passage of Lenin Street to the square.

The last in our list, but the first in construction time, is the house of Lenin. Back in 1924 it was decided to create a room that would "amaze contemporaries and reflect the contribution of the ideas of the great leader to the development of mankind." But the proposed projects turned out to be quite complicated for execution.

As a result, they built a house on Krasny Prospekt by the end of 1925. After the Commission took his draft, another year continued to work on the superstructure and interior decoration of the premises.

As a result, the Lenin's home did become the center of political and cultural life not only of the city, but of the entire region.

House with clock

Some architectural monuments of Novosibirsk are connected with other objects of the former Soviet Union with the help of the same architects. So, this apartment house was designed by Nikitin, who took part in the construction of the Ostankino TV tower.

The design is very simple and minimalistic. In fact, she outstripped her time for half a century. The house was built in the early 1930s, but today it strikes with its functionality. It has two wings connected by a tower with a clock. It has an elevator that serves seventy-eight apartments.

Monuments of Novosibirsk are not only the first decades of the Soviet Union, as it might seem. In this you will be sure to get acquainted with the next attraction.

Commercial building

The city commercial building, which in the people was called the "profitable corps, was built in 1910-11. It housed commercial premises for leasing to merchants, and on the second floor there were administrative offices. Since all income from the delivery of the first floor went to the city treasury, his people jokingly and called profitable.

The style of this structure is attributed to rationalistic modernity. He is a little heavy, but still has his own flavor. This building, like some other architectural monuments of Novosibirsk, was built by the architect Kryachkov.

Today, after the fight against the renters of the area by traders, this building was restored and cleared of debris. In it there is a museum of local lore.

Temple of Alexander Nevsky

When asked about the number of architectural monuments in Novosibirsk, they usually talk about the construction of residential, administrative and other buildings. Our next attraction, perhaps the only one in the city, refers to religious buildings listed in the register of monuments of regional importance.

This object has a very interesting history. According to the records, the church wanted to build the church at the request of the people back in the year 1894. Since no sponsors were found, they began to collect money "by the whole world." For two years, nothing has been built. The process has reached a dead end. Savior building Emperor Nicholas II.

He was returning from his round-the-world trip through Siberia and was amazed at how few temples along the way from Vladivostok. As chairman of the committee for the construction of the Siberian Railway, the emperor proposed the creation of a fund for Alexander III to raise money for help. In particular, it was with the help of this organization that a church was built.

Over time, when there were several similar buildings in the city, it was renamed the Cathedral. It is noteworthy that the Tomsk icon-painting workshop participated in the painting, and the works were executed at a low enough, handicraft level.

Nevertheless, the church functioned regularly from 1900 to 1938, when the committee decided to remove crosses and bells from it, and the building was transferred to a design institute. Later here was a newsreel studio.

Only in 1989 the premises were returned to the Russian Orthodox Church. And in 1991 he was consecrated by Patriarch Alexei again.

Ul. Kainskaya, 13

Many architectural monuments of Novosibirsk have an unusual and contradictory history. The walls of our next landmark are remembered by fires, slanders and much more. But let's talk about everything in order.

So, being a settlement of builders of the Siberian railway, Novonikolaevsk was located on the lands belonging to the imperial house. That is, all its residents were tenants, and not owners of land. Therefore, until 1903, the buildings were mostly wooden, a wing model. After all, if you could not extend the lease, you would have to demolish the building to free the site.

On the street Kainskoy land was leased to a merchant Kuklinu, where he in 1905 begins to build a two-story house with the first stone floor. However, after the most extensive fire that happened due to the fault of his neighbor, he begins the reconstruction of the building, according to all the requirements of fire safety.

Over time, the village receives the status of a city, and residents can redeem the plots for their own use. Thus, since 1909, Kuklin, becoming the rightful owner of the land, begins construction of the estate with a bathhouse and other household buildings. This he earned a denunciation from a neighbor (through the fault of which there was a city fire) that he had a "fire-dangerous bath" in his yard.

The state council did not allow the trader to use the sauna before the proceedings. And only a month later he was given an official permission to wash in his own bath.

When the Soviet power came, Kuklin and his family had to flee the country. At first, the communal living quarters were made in the building, and in 1986 the building was transferred to the city's polyclinic.

Alexander Pokryshkin

Studying the monuments of Novosibirsk, it is worthwhile to talk about the perpetuated memory of one of the city's honorable residents. A former pilot, air marshal, a hero of the Soviet Union, awarded three gold stars. The name of such a famous soldier was decided to be reserved for descendants.

But the monument to Pokryshkin in Novosibirsk has its own history. In the beginning, a contest for the best project was announced, but all the proposed works were not suitable for anything.

Therefore, the winner of the Manizer State Prize was invited, who is his author.

Originally, the monument was placed on the Red Avenue, and in 1981 moved to Sverdlov Square (due to the construction of the metro).

Perpetuated traffic lights

The monument to the traffic light in Novosibirsk was built on the day of the 70th anniversary of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, and the head of the regional administration became one of the authors of the project.

It is believed that this sculpture symbolizes the transition of control over the situation from person to modern technology.

The monument was erected in 2006 near school number 12. It is the oldest educational institution of similar profile in the city, and the first traffic lights were set exclusively near schools to protect children from the drivers.

Sausage

One of the most unexpected and memorable is the sausage monument in Novosibirsk. It is located near the North-Western market.

He was put in the "severe nineties". The author with his help created a humorous attitude to the economic situation of the country's population. Earlier, near this sculpture there was an inscription saying that one should not hang your nose because of a hard life, you just need to eat more sausages. Today, this slogan is on a kiosk that is not far off.

Some perceive this sculpture as a joke of the artist, others - as an advertising move. Obviously only one thing - no one remains indifferent to it.

Fairy-tale inhabitants of the city

One of the most unusual, funny and epic is the monument to Snake Gorynych. Novosibirsk is famous for its unusual city sculptures, but this has surpassed all competitors.

The composition is created in the form of a fountain in a square along Kirov Street. In the center of the pool there is a rock on which the Snake Gorynych sits. At the foot is the throne with Koshchei Immortal, which, according to the great poet, "wilts over gold." Kind, by the way, the villain is very much alive, only a little detached.

Opposite Koshchei there is a fairy pike that holds a "golden egg" in his mouth, apparently with a needle carrying death to the villain.

Few monuments of Novosibirsk can boast such an amazing and complete composition. Therefore, this sculpture is one of the most popular and colorful places in the city.

City sculpture has been around for many years in different quarters and easily fits into modern life. With its help, artists bring humor and magic into the routine of everyday everyday life.
