Familiar heroes and new actors. "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug"

The second part of the film trilogy "The Hobbit", released on screens in December 2013, turned out, in fact, like all the projects of the genius Peter Jackson, large-scale, mesmerizing and epic. Not the least role in the success of the world rolled picture played and talented actors. "The Hobbit: Smaug's Heath" is a fantastically huge and painstaking work done by all members of the crew. Makeup artists and costume designers worked tirelessly to recreate on the screen magnificent images of favorite characters from the world of Tolkien. A stunning cast made it 100% to satisfy the most demanding fans of the book.

Unique Shooting

If in the case of the adaptation of "The Lord of the Rings" Peter Jackson had to try very hard to accommodate the entire story in three films, then with the "Hobbit" it turned out exactly the opposite. Quite a short story, Jackson managed to stretch out three epic films, while increasing the number of characters at the expense of other heroes of Middle-earth, having embodied on the screen incredible battle scenes and adding some new details to the plot. All this did not spoil the story at all, but made it more energetic, interesting and entertaining. An interesting fact is that the film "Smaug's Heath" was the first motion picture that was shot at 48 frames per second on 3D cameras of Red Epic. Thanks to almost half of these cameras, the shooting was conducted from completely impossible angles, allowing to make the picture as realistic as possible for the spectators' perception.

Small, but the most important

Awesome selection of performers of characters - this is another business card of the film "The Hobbit: The Wasteland of Smaug". Actors and the roles that they embodied on the screen, carefully selected and thought through. Some were already familiar to viewers on the trilogy "The Lord of the Rings", with most of them met in the first film "An Unexpected Journey", but there are in the second part of the "Hobbit" and completely new characters that were just about to unfold. But first things first.

The main character, whose journey, in fact, is told in the history of Tolkien, is Bilbo Baggins, played by the British actor Martin Freeman, who became world famous due to Watson's role in tele adaptation of the novels of Conan Doyle called Sherlock. Fans of Tolkien's creativity and his adaptations by Peter Jackson were already familiar with this character since the times of "The Lord of the Rings". There already elderly Bilbo played Ian Holm, lit up and in the first part of the "Hobbit". But since the story of the incredible adventures of the young Baggins is a prequel to the "Lord of the Rings", the actor was also selected for this role younger, and Jackson confirmed Martin for the role with little or no casting.

Familiar faces

In addition to Baggins-Freeman, there are other important characters in the film, and so are the actors. "The Hobbit: The Wasteland of Smaug" again gathered on the set of stars "The Lord of the Rings". Ian McKeilan once again got used to the image of the powerful wizard Gandalf, who conquered millions of women's hearts. Orlando Bloom again embodied the image of the well-known elf Legolas. And the incomparable Cate Blanchett returned to the role of the mighty elven mistress Galadriel.

Dwarves of Erebor

In the main composition of kinotrilogii also included new actors. "The Hobbit: Smaug's Heath" continues the story begun in the first part, in which Baggins set off on a journey with the dwarves who want to restore the former greatness of their race, returning their ancient citadel, the ancient center of their power. At the head of this campaign was Erebor's heir, Thorin Dubovshchit, whose role was played by Briton Richard Armitage, to the "Hobbit" not very well known to a wide audience, but clearly embodied his hero, for which he won the prestigious "Saturn" in 2015. The rest of the gnomes from the detachment in Tolkien's story were not spelled out as detailed as Torin, so the crew had to think out and prescribe the characters themselves. The actors in the movie The Hobbit: The Wasteland of Smaug, who played the dwarves, are Ken Scott (Balin), Peter Hambleton (Gloin), James Nesbitt (Bofour), Aidan Turner (Keely), Mike Hadlow (Dori), Dean O'Gorman (Fili ), Graham McTavish (Dvalin), Stephen Hunter (Bombur), Jed Brophy (Nori), John Callin (Ain), William Kircher (Bifur) and Adam Brown (Ori).

New heroes of Middle-earth

In the second part of the trilogy there are absolutely new characters, but very familiar actors. "The Hobbit: Emptiness of Smaug" finally introduced the audience to the Elf King Thirulos Thranduil, Legolas' father, in the performance of American actor Lee Pace. Surprisingly, his screen son Orlando Bloom is older than his screen father Pace for two whole years. However, they are elves, in order to mislead their age.

Another beautiful representative of the forest people, who appeared in the frame of the second film about the hobbit, is Tauriel, who, however, does not have the original story in the text, but this did not prevent her from organically merging into history. This role was chosen by the delightful Evangeline Lilly, who is a great Tolkien fan since her youth, and for her role she took fencing lessons, archery and even learned the elven language.

In the main, the actors play one role in the films. "The Hobbit: The Wasteland of Smaug" - the picture is largely unique. The genius Benedict Camberbatch presented his voice, movements and facial expressions to Necromancer Dol Guldur, and he did the same with the dragon himself, Smaug. To maximize the image of a formidable lizard, a talented Briton spent a lot of time in the zoo, studying various reptiles. His efforts were not in vain, and the audience appreciated the ancient lizard. The role of Bard-Archer, later became King Bard I, went to the rising star Luc Evans.
