Dosage preparation: instructions for use

The drug "Dzhoset" instructions for use describes a means with a pronounced bronchodilator effect, as well as mucolytic and expectorant actions. Such an action from the use of the drug is achieved due to its composition: the components included in it have unique properties.

In the composition of the drug "Dzhoset" (syrup), the instruction identifies four main active ingredients:

Bromhexine. This substance is able to have a very strong expectorant effect when ingested. In addition, it has a small antitussive effect. Diluting sputum in the lungs, bromhexine also increases the activity of cilia located on the ciliated epithelium. In a complex it allows to accelerate significantly the process of clearing the lungs from sputum and clearing the upper respiratory tract.

Guaifenesin. The main effect of this component in the formulation of the drug "Dzhoset" - a gradual soft transfer of unproductive cough into the productive. This is achieved by reducing the adhesive properties that thick sputum possesses, as well as by reducing its viscosity. The result of the component is the simplification of sputum expectoration.

Salbutamol. This substance has the property of curing spasms of the bronchi, and also makes breathing easier.

Menthol. Soothes and removes irritation of the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract, stimulates the bronchial glands in a mild form, and also has unique antiseptic properties.

In the questions of dosage of the preparation "Dzhoset" the instruction for its application recommends the following recommendations:

Children between the ages of one to six - 5 ml (full teaspoon) three times a day.

Children from six years to twelve - the dose is doubled (up to 10 ml) three times a day.

Adults, as well as adolescents aged twelve years - two full teaspoons two or three times during the day.

Despite the almost completely natural composition, the drug also has some contraindications. Do not recommend taking the "Dzhoset" syrup instruction in case the patient has glaucoma, gastric bleeding, tachyarrhythmia, renal or hepatic insufficiency, aortic stenosis and in case of individual intolerance of at least one of the components in the preparation. During pregnancy, use it only after prior agreement with the doctor, as there is no reliable data on its effect on the development of the fetus. Also, it should not be used for infants, since the required dosage is not known, and the forecast of possible reactions is difficult.

As a variation of the side effects provoked by the use of the drug "Dzhoset", the instruction for use calls the following:

  • Tachycardia;
  • headache;
  • tremor;
  • Staining of urine in light pink color;
  • Vomiting;
  • Convulsions;
  • Rash on the skin;
  • Increased nervous excitability;
  • Exacerbation of peptic ulcer.

In addition, there are a number of other cases where direct contraindications to the use of expectorants are not observed, but nevertheless they should be applied with some caution and under compulsory medical supervision. So, the "Dzhoset" syrup instruction does not recommend using it alone for diabetes, stomach ulcer (even in anamnesis) and in case the patient has arterial hypertension. Very careful should be and with the simultaneous administration of several antitussive drugs, since without special education to predict the possible effect of their interaction is quite difficult.
