Deep cut and first aid when it occurs

Every person's life is full of unexpected troubles. Even just by cooking dinner in the kitchen, you are already putting yourself in rather serious danger. After all, the cut of the finger - it's not such a trifle as it might seem to someone at first glance. Even an ordinary kitchen knife wound can get very serious, which will require emergency medical care. It is useful for each person to become acquainted with a number of actions that may be extremely necessary in the event of a similar situation. In such a situation, you will be able to provide first aid on your own, not only to yourself, but also to someone who is in trouble.

If the bleeding is particularly abundant, then chances are high that a large vessel or artery has been touched. In such a case, immediately call for help. But while doctors are on the way, it is very important to perform a number of actions that will help stop or reduce the loss of blood by the body.

  • Before you do something with the area of the body where a deep cut appeared, be sure to disinfect your hands. Otherwise, pathogenic bacteria can enter the bloodstream. Then the cut will heal much longer, and the risk of subsequent suppuration is great.
  • Make sure there are no foreign objects in the wound. Only then you can start to stop the blood. If the deep cut contains foreign bodies, they must be carefully removed. For example, tweezers.
  • If the wound is not too extensive and deep, then before beginning to bandage, the skin around the cut should be treated with a green. Please note that the agent does not need to be poured directly into the wound itself. It will be enough to handle only the adjacent skin areas. This will prevent infection in the bloodstream.
  • A deep cut of the finger will need to be bandaged in such a way that the edges of the wound come together as close as possible to each other. There is a special method of applying bandages. When using it, the bandage turns around not only around the finger, but around the wrist wounded. Such a method will not allow the bandage to loose or slip.
  • When providing first aid to the victim it is advisable to use only sterile materials. If you do not have a bandage at hand, you can try to stop the bleeding with a handkerchief or napkin. The material must first be disinfected with alcohol or a similar liquid.
  • Do not impose a deep cut on cotton wool. It can leave particles of fibers in the wound, which then will interfere with rapid healing. In addition, when the blood desiccates, cotton wool is usually firmly adhered to the affected area of the skin. Remove it when this situation occurs will not be easy. Do not try to disrupt it. If this does happen, then first it must be soaked, so as not to damage the crust formed on the wound.
  • Not too deep cut can be further processed with hydrogen peroxide. It helps to stop bleeding well , and also disinfects the wound surface. With deeper damage to the skin, it should not be used.
  • Do not apply the dressing too tight, as this can disrupt blood circulation. Select the average density when wrapping a bandage.
  • Even if you yourself managed to stop the blood, you should visit a medical officer as soon as possible. He will additionally treat the deep cut with disinfectants, and also determine if stitches are necessary. Sometimes, in order for the edges of the wound to converge, it is necessary to connect them with special threads. Otherwise, the cut may bleed for a long time and leave behind a vast scar. The doctor will tell you the best drugs for subsequent treatment and the obstacles to inflammation in the damaged area of the skin.
