Comfortable shelf for shoes with your own hands.

To store shoes, sneakers, shoes and other shoes, you need a lot of free space. It is very difficult to keep all these things in order, if they are piled in one heap. Such inconveniences, if desired, can be avoided if there is a shelf for shoes. It's very easy to make it with your own hands, moreover, the costs for materials are minimal, the main thing is to have at least some skills in working with wood, and you will succeed!

The most original and functional is the "carousel" shelf. It accommodates several dozen pairs of shoes, and thus the necessary pair is very easy to find, for this you need only to scroll the carousel a little.

It is placed in both a simple hallway, and in a wardrobe or any other standard closet. The shelf consists of four sections of round-shaped fiberboard, round pins are inserted in them. Each shelf rotates around a metal vertical rod fixed in the lower and upper part of the cabinet.

You will need the simplest tools: a quality tripod for the drill, the drill itself, pins, sheets of fiberboard 22 mm thick, screws.

We start with the measurement of the cabinet, under which our shoe shelf will be fitted, made with our own hands . We take a pre-prepared sheet of fiberboard and cut out the blanks of the desired size from it. Then we place the holes for the pins on them with a rod and a compass.

In order to maximize the use of space in the cabinet, you can make shelves of two different types. The first three will be 12 pairs of shoes, and on the fourth there will be room for another 9 pairs.

To begin with, we cut out the square billets from a single sheet of fiberboard and divide each of them into several equal segments. At the point of intersection of the segments we attach the reed to the nail. At the desired length, a pencil is fixed and the first large circle is made. Then, let's take 2-3 cm from the original value and draw another smaller circle.

With the help of a transport operator, we mark 16 segments on the workpiece and proceed to cutting out our shelf. Then, gently grind the edges with a fine sandpaper. Preliminarily noticeable irregularities can be ground with a belt or flat grinder.

Take the corona drill and make a large enough central hole, which will match the size with a pre-prepared steel pipe.

To the shelf for shoes, created by themselves, was reliable, you need to fix the central rod and large disks at the correct height with small disks. They are also cut from the fiberboard and have a diameter half the diameter of our large circles. Two small circles are installed from below and from above to fix the rod. Other disks are placed under and above each of the main shelves. On the support discs, which are installed under the shelves and hold them at a given height, two metal corners are fastened.

When the entire shelf for shoes with their own hands is assembled in the right order and put on a steel pipe, we pass to its installation in the cabinet. To fix the carousel, you have to raise and lower the large shelves a couple of times. While fastening the support discs, the raised shelves can be fixed with clamps. Then, when attaching the upper discs, the large shelves are lowered again.

The sequence of actions is the following:

1. Determine the center at the top and bottom of the cabinet and draw the corresponding circles on the locking discs.
2. Then we put on the rod the discs of the future shelf under the shoes. We check with the diagram how correctly the shelves are put on, after which we proceed to install the carousel in the cabinet.
3. When all the shelves are on the tube, they must be temporarily fixed with a screwdriver. This will free up some space for screwing the lower disk.
4. Carefully fix the lower and upper small disks.

The finished product must be painted in any desired color. In this case, the surface of the support parts should not be painted over, this will allow to maintain good sliding. If you install the roller system in place of fixing the rod to the cabinet, then we will get a sliding shelf for shoes.
