Coins of Poland. The ringing history of the state

Collecting ... Many have this hobby rooted in the very childhood. The majority of professional collectors began with the fact that at the age of five they selected coins from asphalt and carefully stored them in their children's caches. There were years, someone outgrew this fascination, but those who remained committed, achieved staggering results. Why? Because it is in private collections that the most expensive things of our time are, including rare coins.

For the first time in Europe, people began to collect coins during the Renaissance. This interesting tradition has survived to this day. Everyone in this business pursues its goal. One is a pleasure, others consider collecting a fairly lucrative business, and a coin is a profitable investment. Whatever it was, choosing this way, a person, as a rule, is fond of one direction. Today, for many fans of numismatics, coins of Poland are of great interest.

History of Polish money

A certain period of time in the territory of the country went to foreign currency, but after a while in everyday life included coins of its own state production. Yes, it is coins. Early history shows that paper money, like currency, has appeared relatively recently, but people paid metal coins at the dawn of human history. With the development of production in Poland, many mints have appeared . Some time there minted a variety of money. After a while the law on a single state coin was passed, and only the government had the right to "make money". After this reform, the domestic and foreign economy of the country sharply went uphill, but after a while it was discovered that there was not enough money in the state. This was the impetus for the development and introduction of a new monetary system. It was then that banknotes appeared - the national paper currency.

The first "ringing money"

Since then, the use of coins has become less and less, and some even ceased to exist. It is these specimens that today are of great value. Like other developing countries, Poland is rich in rare metal money, which at the moment is of great interest to collectors and investors. Zloty is a modern monetary unit of Poland. Her first silver specimen was minted in the 16th century. After a century, when the country was ruled by Jan II Kazimierz, the gold coins "złoty" began to be actively produced. Poland after a while experienced a stormy collapse of the economy because of "credit", not provided with precious metals money. Initially, "zloty" was called not only state money, but also gold ducats from abroad. The name caught on. And to this day coins of Poland are called zloty, although they no longer have any precious metals in their composition.

The appearance of commemorative and commemorative coins

For the country, the sixteenth century was significant not only this. It was in this century that the beginning was made of depicting kings and other representatives of power on metal money. Sigismund I was the first king to appear on the back of the coin of Poland. Thanks to such a reform and scrupulous work of medieval artists, almost all Polish citizens today can get acquainted with the history of their state, so to speak, in their faces. In the second half of the twentieth century, the zloty began to depreciate rapidly.
This happened as a result of several unsuccessful monetary reforms. After that, metal money began to be produced mainly from aluminum. An exception are only some commemorative and commemorative coins of Poland. More recently, the first time saw the light of metal money, dedicated to a plane crash above the city of Smolensk. They are collectible and expensive, because the price of a coin is primarily affected by its scarcity.

2 zł. Their meaning and everyday life

Commemorative coins of Poland are really very expensive. Some of them, preserved only in one copy, can cost millions of US dollars. This led to the fact that numismatics began to deal not only with collectors, but also with professional investors. Such rare coins have now become a profitable deposit and a good investment. The most famous commemorative coins in Poland are 2 zł. Since 1995, and almost to this day, they are issued by the National Bank of Poland. Each of them today has the status of treatment. Such specimens have a rather pleasant golden color, probably because of the high copper content in their alloy. 2 zł are issued on the occasion of special events, as well as with the depiction of architectural and other monuments. One of them was timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Olympic Games, the other was called "Jan III Sobieski" and thus immortalized the descendants of the name of this ruler.

The appearance of a new face value

Indeed, the life of the country is reflected precisely in such currency signs. The Polish main financial department issued commemorative coins with a nominal value of 2 zlotys, and only in 2014 a copy with a face value of 5 was added to them. This coin, although it is memorable, is officially recognized as a payment in the territory of the country.
