Chris Wolstenholme and Muse Group

December 2, 1978 in the town called Rotherham, which is located in England, was born future musician, vocalist of the group playing rock - Christopher Tony "Chris" Walstholm.

Youth. The emergence of a group

Christopher grew up in his hometown, and already being a teenager, moved to Tinmouth (Devon), where he started his musical hobby. It was there that Chris began playing drums in one of the local post-punk bands. In the same building where his band rehearsed, there was another one, which included Bellamy Matthew and Howard Dominic. One day, the two approached Walstholm and asked him to join their band, because they needed a bass player. It should be noted that Chris at that time almost could not play the guitar, but the proposal Matthew and Dominic took, urgently starting to learn the game on this instrument. So the group Muse was formed.

Private life

The personal life of Chris Wolstenholme was remarkable. Already in 2003 he had a third child. In the same year, Christopher married a girl named Kelly, with whom he had long maintained close relationships. Now the couple have six children, the youngest will soon be three years old, the oldest - 17 years. Wolstenholme not without reason is called an exemplary family man. Being on tour, and just outside his family's nest, the musician does not forget about his loved ones, constantly naming and coping about the state of affairs.

In 2010, the family of the rock musician moved to Ireland, to Dublin, and in 2011 again returned to London. Despite the fact that since childhood Chris Wolstenholme lives away from his hometown, he continues to root for his Rotherham football team.

Chris has a deserved degree of Doctor of Arts, given to him by the University of Plymouth.

Bad habits

In the summer of 2010, the media presented to the fans of Chris and his group an interview with him, in which he confessed his addiction to alcohol. Chris Wolstenholme was not shy about talking about this problem, and when the time came, he started treatment and underwent a rehabilitation course. As the musician later told, he was influenced by his father's story, who was also an alcoholic, and died when Chris was seventeen years old. Rehabilitation has been successful, since then, Christopher does not drink alcohol at all, and his relationship has therefore improved not only with his family, but also with colleagues.

Another of Chris's bad habits is smoking. Every day he smoked more packs of cigarettes, and in 2010 began smoking a pipe. Attempts to get rid of this addiction were undertaken repeatedly, he even tried to smoke electronic cigarettes. However, only five years ago he managed to quit smoking.

Muse

Chris Wolstenholme, undoubtedly, had a very big influence on the work of his band. Unambiguously, this is due to his huge love for heavy rock. Both the fans and the band members themselves admit that it was Wolstenholme that brought some zest and stiffness to their compositions. In 2011, the popular music magazine Gigwise, or rather, its readers, recognized Chris as the best bass player of all time. Obviously, such a title must be earned.

But Wolstenholm not only participates in the band as a bass player, he is also the backing vocalist of the band. He wrote and performed several songs himself. Some of them are related to the theme of alcoholism, others talk about love. In particular, after telling about the meaning of his songs, Chris explained that with the help of them he thanked his wife, who saved him from alcoholism, pulled him out of this hole.

"Christopher Wolstenholme is a man who brought something new to rock music, his style and manner of playing make you be tense during the whole concert," as music critics say about him today.
