Bulbs H7 - a bright solution for any car

As the statistics show, most accidents (about 80%) occur in conditions of insufficient visibility (fog, rain, snow), of which about 60% - in the dark. And the reason for this is insufficient visual information, which does not allow drivers to make the right and timely decision. Therefore, not the last place in the matter of ensuring road safety is given to the lamps of the head light.

One of the most common devices that provide a bright and at the same time compliant with all standards of the car's running light, are H7 bulbs. As a rule, they are used in headlights with separate reflectors for dipped and high beams. Despite the fact that they have only one filament, they can create a luminous flux of more than 1500 lumens (lm). At the same time, they have a power of 55 W and can be used as a source of head lighting in almost any vehicle, since this does not contradict the Russian legislation.

As for the low-beam headlamps with H7 socket, they have become the most modern and most common standard. The H7 passing beam can have both standard and enhanced light output. Very often they are inserted into the fog lamps, the more so the process of their installation practically does not differ from the installation of H4 lamps and takes literally a few minutes.

Lamps H7, originally produced as halogen, i.e. Filled with pairs of iodine or bromine, continue to remain popular to the present day. Along with them are widely used and xenon arc lamps. A worthy alternative to traditional lighting sources are LED lamps. More and more motorists prefer these environmentally friendly and at the same time reliable products.

Advantages of LED lamps H 7

LED lamps H7 are not inferior in terms of illumination to traditional lamps, and at the same time surpass them in terms of service life. Another reason why car enthusiasts prefer LED lamps is their low power consumption, which sometimes plays an important role, especially if the battery is not new. A low allocation of thermal energy allows them to be used even in plastic headlights.

Main manufacturers of car lamps

Among manufacturers of lighting sources, there is constant competition. Among the many world leaders, the following major producers can be distinguished:

  • Osram. Lamps of this German manufacturer, having a standard capacity, are capable of producing very bright light. For example, the lamp Osram Night Breaker Plus H7 is capable of providing a light cone 35 meters longer than its counterparts, while delivering light at 90% more.
  • Bosch. This German company, which has existed for more than a century, is a recognized leader in the production of a wide range of products, including lamps. Bosch products traditionally are characterized by high quality, long life and low price.
  • Philips. Automobile bulbs H7 of this Netherlands manufacturer also differ in their reliability and have the highest characteristics.
  • Koito. The assortment of lamps of this Japanese manufacturer is quite wide. The lamps of Koito have been around for quite some time, and therefore they have become unusually popular among Russian motorists.

As for the cost, in this category of goods the spread of prices is quite large. The cheapest H7 bulbs can be bought for 150 rubles, and the most expensive ones cost more than a half thousand, it all depends on the type and manufacturer.
