Today the name Alice has different associations. It's only since the second half of the sixties in the USSR that girls began to be called in honor of one book heroine. And it was not Alice Lewis Carroll. Such popularity was enjoyed by Alisa Selezneva from a series of fantastic works created by a wonderful Soviet writer Kir Bulychev.

Biography of the writer in his childhood

The real name of the fantastically beloved is Igor Vsevolodovich Mozheiko. He took the pseudonym Kir Bulychev out of fear that he might be fired from his job, since there the occupation of literature, the more fiction, was not considered worthy.

He appeared in Moscow on the October day of October 1934. The boy's father belonged to an old Belarusian-Lithuanian noble family. However, in his youth, he broke off relations with him and began to live his work. In 1925 he married a worker in the pencil factory of Maria Bulycheva.

When the young Igor barely turned five years old, his father left the family, and my mother got married for the second time. Thanks to this marriage, the writer Natasha was born.

Study and creativity

After graduating from school, Kir Bulychev began to study foreign languages at the Maurice Thorez Institute. After the institute, he worked for several years as an interpreter in Burma. Later he returned to his native city and began to study oriental studies at the graduate school of the Institute of the Academy of Sciences. After her graduation, she remained there as a teacher of the history of Burma.

In subsequent years, the biography of Kira Bulychev was marked by scientific achievements: he defended his Ph.D., and later his doctoral dissertation. In addition, working in the institute, Bulychev wrote many scientific works on Southeast Asia, in particular about Burma.

In addition to work, in his spare time Kir Bulychev published various notes and essays for such eminent publications as "Around the World" and "Asia and Africa Today".

The first artwork Bulychev was published in 1961, the story "Maung Joe will live." However, the author undertook to write fantastic works only four years later, and the "first-born" was a small story "The duty of hospitality."

Quite soon the works of Igor Mozheiko, writing under the pseudonym Cyrus Bulychev, began to enjoy the readers' love. And a little later his stories and novels began to be published in separate books.

In 1977, his novel "One Hundred Years Ahead" was screened. A multi-part film, based on its motives, was called "Guest from the Future". Thanks to her, the whole USSR met an inquisitive schoolgirl Alisa Selezneva, who lives in the second half of the 21st century.

After the incredible success of the film adaptation, the biography of Kira Bulychev was not particularly filled with bright events. As before, he continued to write a lot, and his works liked the readers. Quite often he was engaged in adapting his stories and stories under the screenplay. By the way, about twenty works of Bulychev were screened.

In addition to a successful creative career, the personal life of a writer named Kir Bulychev was simply superb. Igor Mozheyko's spouse was his pen colleague, writer Kira Soshinskaya, who became an illustrator of Bulychev's works. From this union the daughter Alice was born, in honor of which the famous heroine was named.

With the arrival of the heavy nineties, the writer remained popular, and his work - to interesting readers. In addition, in those difficult years, the biography of Kira Bulychev was enriched by one noteworthy fact: he saved the If magazine from closing.

At the beginning of the two thousandth, the writer discovered an oncological disease, because of which he died in the autumn of 2003.

Biography of Kira Bulychev may not be full of bright events, like Alisa Sezeznova, but he received many well-deserved prestigious awards and prizes. Among them are the State Prize of the USSR, the All-Russian Prize "Aelita", "The Knights of Fiction" by him. I. Khalimbadzhi "and the Russian literary award named after Alexander Green, to which he was awarded posthumously in 2004.

A series of works about Alice Selezneva

Despite the fact that the writer's works are almost twenty volumes, the greatest popularity of Kira Bulychev was brought by a series of stories and stories about Alice Selezneva, named after the author's daughter.

In total, he devoted 52 of his favorite heroine. In them, she traveled to other planets, fell into the past, parallel the fairy-tale dimension, and much more. Throughout the literary "life" Seleznev often met with a wide variety of people and creatures from other planets and eras. However, most often participants in the adventures of the girl was her father, Professor Igor Seleznev (named after the writer himself), as well as the four-armed archaeologist Gromozek from another planet.

For the first time this heroine appeared in 1965 on the pages of the story "A Girl With Nothing Will Happen". It soon gained popularity, especially after the release of movies and cartoons. On the screen, Alice Seleznev was embodied by such actresses as Natalia Guseva ("Guest from the Future", "Lilac Ball"), Ekaterina Prizhilyak ("Rusted General's Island"), Daria Melnikova (the film was never shot, but the girl voiced the heroine in the animated series "Alice knows what to do") and other Polish and Slovak actresses.

The cycle of works about the inhabitants of the city Great Guslar

Another famous series of Kira Bulychev was a series of humorous works about the life of the inhabitants of the town of Great Guslyar (the prototype is Veliky Ustyug). More than a hundred stories and stories the writer devoted to this fictional town.

In this series there are no main characters, although many characters are present in several works at once. The first story of this series was "Personal Relations".
At the beginning of the two thousandths Kir Bulychev officially announced the end of the cycle, justifying his act by the fact that the idea has outlived itself and is no longer of interest to him. All the written works from the "Great Guslar" himself Kir Bulychev divided into six parts, grouping them into collections.

Based on the cycle, several cartoons, two short films and one TV movie "Chance" were filmed.

1) Novels about Andrew Bruce - a brave agent from Cosmoflot ("Agent Cosmoflot" and "Dungeon Witches"). Based on the second novel, the film of the same name was shot.

2) Another hero, who appeared in many works of Bulychev, is Dr. Pavlysh. He devoted one novel "Prosselok" and eight other less voluminous works.

3) The heroine of many other works by Kira Bulychev. Kora Orvat is a kind of mature version of Alisa Selezneva. However, instead of cosmic biology, she is interested in the disclosure of crimes. It is noteworthy that in some works she intersects with Alice.

Interesting facts about the writer's life

In order not to lose work at the institute, Igor Mozheiko initially took the pseudonym Kirill Bulychev. But when published, this alias was often abbreviated as Cyrus. Bulychev. After a while because of the misprint, the point disappeared, and the name that was produced arranged the writer.

The surname for the pseudonym was taken by Igor Vsevolodovich from his mother: in her maiden name was Maria Bulycheva. And Cyrus is a male version of the name of the writer's wife, Kira Soshinskaya.

It is noteworthy that most readers for a long time did not even suspect who is behind the name of Kir Bulychev. Only in 1982 the secret was revealed, since the writer was awarded the State Prize of the USSR.
