"Trainer"

So, the first in our selection film about running - "Coach". The premiere took place in 2015. I shot a picture of Disney, directed by Nicky Caro.

The plot was based on real events. Events take place in 1987 in a small town called McFarland. Here the professional trainer gathers a team of athletes from small hooligans and tomboy, and leads her to the heights of Olympus.

The film has fairly high spectator ratings and many positive reviews. Among the pluses of the picture, the lookers note the originality of the subjects, the excellent actors' play and the thoughtfulness of the characters, witty humor. "Fiery Chariots"

This is a British sports drama, released in 1981 and filmed by Hugh Hudson. The painting was awarded such high awards as the Cannes Festival Prize, BAFTA, 4 Oscar Awards, etc.

The plot is based on real events about two English athletes who took part in the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris. One of them is Garlold Abrahams, a Jew and a Cambridge student, the second is Eric Liddell, a missionary. The film, in fact, talks about the confrontation of two completely different views on life.

Despite a lot of awards, the audience appreciates the film rather ambiguously. Even the story alone is praised, and others are blamed for weakness, tightness and boredom. The only thing that is highly appreciated by everyone is the music of Vangelis.

"Forrest Gump"

This picture is difficult to classify as "films about sports". Running here plays a slightly different role. This is more the life principle of the protagonist and a cure for all adversity, as well as a way to make friends and find happiness.

"Forrest Gump" - a cult film by Robert Zemeckis, who collected many different film awards. To say that the picture has a crowd of fans and an incredible amount of positive feedback is probably unnecessary. Despite the fact that the film was released on screens in 1994, it continues to enjoy success with the audience. Many call it even the best that was filmed in the 20th century.

"Saint Ralph"

Canadian film of 2004 about the fourteen-year-old boy named Ralf. After the death of his father and his mother's illness, he falls into a Catholic shelter. Doctors tell Ralph that his mother can save only a miracle, then he decides to create it - to win in the Boston marathon.

The audience appreciates the film very highly, they call it kind, bright and full of hope for the best. Nevertheless, the picture for a long time crashes into memory and causes strong impressions. Also, the watched film marks an unusual story for the genre of sports drama and an excellent acting game.

"Finishing line"

The films about running are necessarily connected with overcoming either oneself, or life circumstances, and sometimes both. In the latter category is this French picture of 2011.

The film tells about the former sportswoman and athlete Leila, whose career was finished after she was sent to prison. After spending 5 years behind bars and being at large, she immediately goes to the stadium. Here, Leila meets Yanik, blinded after the accident by a runner. The guy has a cherished dream - to win in the competition between the disabled. But to achieve this goal, he needs a good coach. The girl understands Yanik's dream and decides to help him.

The film receives both positive and negative audience ratings. Basically the picture makes a strong impression and emotions, thanks to perfectly thought out images of the protagonists and the actor's game. However, there are those who find the film boring, and the plot is inexpressive.

"Running"

Not always films about running are connected only with sports, often the plot is supplemented by any personal problems of the sportsman. This is the Canadian film of 1979, shot by Stephen H. Stern.

The main character of the picture is Michael Andropilis, an American marathon runner, who is preparing for the upcoming Olympic Games. At the same time, the athlete has problems in the family, his marriage breaks up. Michael gradually loses his wife and respect for his children. The athlete goes to the competitions in the hope that the victory will help him solve his family problems.

The boy runs well, and the director suggests that he participate in local competitions, a victory in which would help Colin rehabilitate himself.
