Bar loop: the scope and features of the accessories

The old Soviet doors are increasingly amenable to replacement. Although they are not too damaged and even function smoothly, but aesthetic harm to the room is borne. Bar hinge: what is this fittings?

Bar hinge refers to the category of modern types of fittings used to mount doors opening in any direction. The spring mechanism, mounted in a loop, allows you to complete the closing of the door automatically and smoothly.

Another name - pendulum or spring - the bar loop was obtained thanks to the type of mechanism that allows the door to be closed. To some extent this explains the operation principle of the loop, but not completely.

Structurally, the bar loop (the photo clearly illustrates this) consists of two spring mechanisms that rotate about the axis in the opposite direction, thereby allowing the door to open in any direction and easily return to its original position, that is, the closed state.

Scope of accessories

Interestingly, the pendulum hinges in work are most often found at the entrance to a bar, shop or health center, where the visitor does not need to think about which way to open the door. Such a door is functional, but it is rare in private houses.

Bar loops are divided into different types, depending on the mechanism of action. Each of them is mounted in its own way. Therefore, setting a certain type of loop is an important point that needs to be considered in more detail.

Pendulum hinge mounting features

The main feature of the installation of the hinge is the specific design of the fittings. Installation of bar loops requires preliminary preparation of fasteners. To do this, you need to loosen the springs. If you purchased a set of accessories in a specialized store, then a special pin, suitable for such a purpose, is included with the hinges. After preparing the fasteners, they can be mounted.

During assembly of the hardware, do not forget that during operation, the level of compression of the springs must be checked.

Stages of fitting hardware

1. Make a mark on the door frame and the end of the door of the alleged loop attachment point.
2. Under the hinges, you can make excavations (if there is such a need), using a drill for this. Masters still recommend not to miss this moment, since without dents, the gap between the box and the door structure itself can be from 1 to 12 mm, and this is a serious error.
3. After marking, the loops are applied to the attachment points and mounted using self-tapping screws.
4. Having finished installation of loops, do not forget to adjust the spring mechanism: rotate the adjusting wheel clockwise. Adjustment is carried out in this order: first tighten the spring on the leaf attached to the frame, and then the spring mechanism located on the door itself.

After the bar hinge is adjusted, the installation of the door fixtures is considered complete.
