From the very beginning it is necessary to name the main initiator, by the surname of which this year, becoming more and more popular, was named after the year. Mikhail Gennadievich Bakshevsky (16.02.1960 - 17.01.1998) built in 1986 the first snow fortress. He himself called the holiday Masljanitsa. This idea he devoted all the remaining years of life (in 1998 he died of an attack of asthma).
