Artificial ventilation

If there was a sudden stop of breathing, the patient urgently needs artificial ventilation. Most often, such help is drowned people, hit by an electric shock, received a heat or sunstroke. Also, this help may be necessary when strangling or severe poisoning. One way of ventilation is by mouth-to-mouth injection or "mouth to nose". Artificial ventilation of the lungs is performed until the victim has the opportunity to breathe on his own. Of course, the air inhaled to a person contains about seventeen percent of oxygen instead of the usual twenty-one, which a healthy individual breathes independently. However, this is enough to help the full-fledged.

So, if there are suspicions that the patient has ceased to breathe, one must immediately perform artificial respiration without losing valuable time. When carrying out rescue operations for hygienic reasons, it is best to use a handkerchief or a piece of gauze, making (or biting) in the middle an opening of two to three centimeters. Then, with this slit, put the cloth on the patient's mouth and with his lips tighten to his lips as tightly as possible. Through this opening, air will be blown.

To make artificial ventilation easy, the rescuer needs to stand to the left of the patient's head. If necessary, the oral cavity should be quickly cleared of vomit. In the event that the jaws were tightly compressed, they must be spread out immediately. After this, it is necessary to throw back the head of the victim, putting one hand on his head, and the other on the forehead. As a rule, the mouth opens.

Beforehand, the rescuer needs to take a deep breath, then, bending over to the patient, completely seal his mouth with his lips. It is also necessary to pinch the nostrils of the injured person with the thumb and forefinger lying on his forehead.

Sometimes, when producing artificial respiration, the rescuer does not provide the necessary tightness, therefore, air leakage occurs through the corners of the patient's mouth, and all efforts are in vain. After making sure that everything is done correctly, you need to quickly exhale a strong exhalation in the respiratory tract of the victim. It should last about one second, its volume should be equal to 1 - 1.5 liters, to ensure the full stimulation of the respiratory center. Be sure to ensure that the patient's chest rises well when performing an artificial inspiration.

The victim should make an exhalation lasting about two seconds. At this time, the rescuer needs to take an inhalation one or two times to replenish his air reserves. Inflammation should be done at a frequency of twenty-five to thirty times per minute.

Artificial ventilation of the lungs is performed by the method of "mouth to nose" in the event that there is a trauma to the jaws or lips, and also if the victim's teeth are tightly squeezed. One hand must be placed on his forehead, the other on his chin, bending his head and pressing his jaw lower to the top. Fingers supporting the chin, the rescuer should press the lower lip to ensure complete sealing of the patient's mouth. Having made the deepest inhalation, the rescuer covers the nose of the victim with his lips and heavily blows air through the nostrils. The movements of the patient's chest should be under constant control.

Of course, a more effective effect on the body is provided by the device of artificial ventilation. He has a breathing bag with a gasket of porous rubber, as well as a mask. When using this device, the patient's head should be thrown back and put on the mask on the nose and mouth, and along with it, push the lower jaw forward. With one hand, the mask should be pressed tightly to the face in the nose with the thumb, and in the chin area - with the help of the index finger. The rest of the fingers of this hand are used to grip the chin in order to press the lower jaw to the top and hold it in the extended position. The second hand should press on the breathing bag to perform inspiration, with the release of the hand is exhaled.

All rescue movements must be quick and collected, because this depends on the life of a person.
