Application of cereals - creative work and a way of developing the child's intellectual abilities

Applikatsiya - one of their most interesting types of artistic activity, based on the drawing up of any image of multiple particles of different materials. Use the applique to decorate certain objects, and to create individual paintings.

The simplest varieties of this creative activity, for example appliqué from cereals, beads or paper, develop in the child imagination, thinking, imagination, aesthetic taste, fine motor skills and tactile sensations. Therefore, it is recommended to start applying the applique from the youngest age.

History of application

Appearance of the application refers to the distant times of the appearance of the stitch (seam) on clothes made from animal skins. It is assumed that people made all kinds of wardrobe items from pieces of fabric only because it was not possible to make clothes from one single piece of material. Only after a while the appliqué became not a forced way of creating things, but a real decoration of various objects. For example, during the time of chivalry, she decorated the family arms, which were used with the participation of notable men in tournaments.

Later, small pieces of expensive stones, metals and tree species began to decorate furniture. And in the absence of expensive materials as decorative elements began to use straw. Then alternately appeared other types of this artistic activity: applique from cereals, paper, dry plants, beads and other things.

Application from cereals

This type of creation of a relief image is designed for the smallest creators (from 1.5 years). Application of cereals is very useful for the mental development of the baby. Thanks to her, the child gets acquainted with the materials and tools used in the work. In the process of work, young masters master the rules of working with brushes, scissors, pencils.

It is very important when creating an application to draw the child's attention to the variability of colors and forms (the tree at different times of the year), to the position of objects in space (the sparrow flies, sits, jumps). On the basis of all this, a clear image of the surrounding world is perfectly formed and the stock of knowledge is expanding.

Application of cereals is often created on colored paper or cardboard. For work, glue (PVA), brushes, peas, rice or millet are also needed. For safety of the baby, brewed starch can be used as an adhesive, or, in extreme cases, a glue stick. Initially, a sketch of the drawing is created on paper, for example, a sun, a tree, a mushroom. Then the pattern is covered with an adhesive, after which cereals are poured onto it. After drying, the excess grains are removed. Ready-made appliqué from cereals is placed in a frame under the glass, where it can be stored for many years.

Application from straws

From straw are made as usual compositions consisting of one element, and serious cloths with stunning landscapes. Such paintings look very advantageous due to the golden, glossy surface of the straw. This kind of applique is more difficult than the first, and it can only be overpowered by children older than 7-8 years old.

Before starting the application, straws are often tinted by thermal heating, boiling in water, immersion in a solution of potassium permanganate, or discoloration in hydrogen peroxide. Also, the material is stained with special aniline paints.

Then sketch the conceived composition in the size of one to one. Each element of the picture is cut with scissors and covered with glue. After that, the straws are pre-arranged on the part, pre-selected in color and size. It is very important to put the strips of working material close to each other, leaving no lumens. Then all the parts are placed under the press. After drying, all elements are trimmed with scissors and glued to the object to be decorated.
