For a long time, domestic motorcycles, mopeds and even snowmobiles had a carburetor K 62 in its design . However, a number of defects of engineers in this model were revealed. Modern conditions required the improvement and modernization of this device. Therefore, in the 90s of the XX century, the model K 65 (carburetor) was created. This device looks similar to the previous device. But its content is significantly different from it. This is reflected in the principle of operation, regulation and arrangement of the variety K 65.

On the carburetors K 65C and K 65B there is a starting device with an autonomous drive, at K 65G and K 65ZH - with a cable drive (found in motorcycles "Dnepr", "Ural"), and for K 65I, K 65D - corrector heater Is used in mopeds of the brand "IZH").

Start-up with a stand-alone drive has a plunger, a trigger, a needle, a protective cap, channels, a control rod, a fuel well and openings. The normal position of the device is considered closed.

Installation and configuration

Before adjusting the new carburetor K 65, it must be installed and adjusted.

First, remove the carburetor cover. The throttle spring holds the needle through the lock. It has one round and two shaped holes. A circular slot located in the center serves to secure the gas cable. A T-hole is necessary for attaching the propeller rod.

Installing the carburetor on the engine, connect the cable to the throttle, fix the lid.

Fuel level adjustment

Adjusting the carburetor K 65 starts with setting the fuel level. For this purpose, the device is turned over and the bottom of the float chamber is removed. Next, the distance from the connector to the line that separates the float into two parts is replaced.

This distance is usually 13 mm with a possible deviation of both sides by 1.5 mm.

If the size does not fit into the carburetor, the tongue of the float must be bent in the desired direction.

Check this theory is simple. It is necessary to collect in a bath of warm water and to immerse in it a float for a minute or longer. If bubbles appear, it means that the float is defective.

Mixing of the mixture

For this, an experiment is made. The throttle opens sharply. If the engine stalls, then the mixture should be enriched. To do this, wrap the mixture quality screw 1/4 or 1/2 turn.

Adjustment of carburettor K 65 under operating conditions is performed by moving the needle of the dispenser relative to the lock. This should be done in a certain order.

For example, adjusting the carburetor K 65, you can consider this procedure on a motorcycle "Ural".
