Perversion is a feature of perception or pathology: what is the ambiguity of a term?

Today, experts compiled a list of some unusual perversions of a sexual nature:

• Narratophilia implies a feeling of excitement from hearing vulgarity or abusive language.
• Pictograph is a perversion, according to which the individual enjoys viewing pictures preferred instead of sexual intercourse.
• Mechanophilia - a sexual attraction to the mechanisms and excitement from the speed.
• Pyrophilia - getting sexual pleasure at the sight of fire.
• Podophilia - has to do with foot-fetish, which is characterized by an attraction to the soles of the feet.

Is it possible to cure sexual perversion?

It should be said that when specialists observe psychological deviations, the problem is not limited to how to distinguish perversion from the norm, it is complicated by careful concealment of the disease by the patient from his environment. He is afraid of promulgation and criminal punishment. Because of this behavior, the disease can only worsen.

If the cause of sexual perversion is trauma or or pathology, this perception is amenable to correction with the involvement of a psychotherapist, psychiatrist, sex therapist, surgical and other therapies.
