History of the park

His story "Sarzhin Yar" (Kharkov) began in the XVIII century. Then he was a small suburb of the chief chambermaster Skrypov. In 1788, it was first marked on the map under the name "Farm Sarzhin". The name came from the river Sarzhinka, which flowed from the modern village of Zhukovsky. The source, located in Sarzhin Yar, is a hydrological monument of nature. The Kharkov people have always come here to get the purest water with medicinal properties.

In 1960, one of the main symbols of the source appeared - a concrete pavilion of complex star shape. The project of the building belongs to the architect V. Vasiliev.

In the XV century, the church was destroyed by Muslims. The memory of her remained on the icons, written in honor of the blind man's healing. Only in the middle of the XIX century the temple was rebuilt and consecrated. By this time the icons from the destroyed church were sold to Orthodox churches around the world.
