Molecule of water is a wonderful gift of nature

The water molecule is the union of the simplest elements in nature, but its functions are difficult to overestimate. Water is the basis of the body of all living things, in man it is about seventy percent. All the chemical reactions in the body are also due to water. So what does this remarkable molecule consist of?

The structure of the water molecule is extremely simple. The molecule consists of three atoms - one oxygen and two hydrogen. Oxygen is denoted by O, and hydrogen H. The chemical formula is denoted as -H2O. Like all other molecules, water has a charge. Charges are distributed unevenly, so the water molecule has two poles - positive and negative. The angle between molecules can vary depending on the state of the water, for example, in the state of ice, it expands. The view that the water molecule has hydrogen atoms on the one hand visited scientists almost a hundred years ago. The Englishman Bernal said that the easiest way to build a model of water molecules along the chain, in which on the sides would be hydrogen, and in the middle there is oxygen. However, then the water molecule would become electrically neutral. This conclusion allowed us to assert that the water molecule has hydrogen atoms on one side, which determines its electrical status.

The size of the water molecule was also of interest to researchers. It was found that its diameter is three tenths of a nanometer, and the prefix means minus the ninth degree. That is, after the comma there are nine zeros. This size of the molecule allows it to be mobile, change its physical properties and connect with various chemical substances.

Researches of scientists testify that life originated in the water. With the help of various energy sources, organic compounds - proteins, amino acids, nucleosides - were obtained in laboratories. All experiments were performed in such a way that there was no oxygen, but at the expense of energy, synthesis was carried out. As you know, the water coped with it perfectly, which means that it is not for nothing called alive.

The properties of water are used in the treatment of various diseases. The story of Dr. Batmanghelidzha, who saved his life with the help of ... water, is interesting. For some time he had to stay on the territory of Iran, where at that time revolutionaries were bursting to power. Sweeping people in prison on their way, they did not understand much who does what and how they can harm their regime. And Dr. Batmanghelidzha fell into disgrace. His property was confiscated, and Fereydun himself was imprisoned. The time spent in prison did not pass by the scientist for nothing - he was engaged in research and found out that water has medicinal properties and helps to cure some diseases, in particular stomach and duodenal ulcer. The patient in this prison suffered from this disease, but neither medicine nor other ways to help him was not. Then the doctor prescribed the only available medicine - two glasses of water. After a short time, the pain passed, the patient became much better. The rest of his time in prison, the scientist devoted to investigating the properties of water.

On the day of pronouncing the sentence Batmanghelidzha finished writing an article on the medicinal properties of water. He knew that he would be sentenced to death, so after the verdict he presented his article to the judge. Imagine the surprise when the judge pardoned the scientist and allowed him to do his research further. All his life, the doctor advocated drinking water, as an effective method against many diseases. That's how water saved the scientist from death.

Human life is continuously connected with water. The fragile water molecule, which, nevertheless, has many useful properties, is given to us by nature and we are obliged to protect the planet's water resources , because water is life.
