Infrasonic weapons: the history of creation (photo)

Humanity throughout its history has created an incredible number of devices and mechanisms designed to exterminate all life. However, the practice of wars shows that killing enemies rarely leads to a final victory. The place of the dead soldiers becomes different, and the conflict can last for a long time. History knows examples of wars that lasted for centuries. In the twentieth century, inventors in different countries thought about ways to neutralize the enemy in so-called non-lethal ways. Work began on psychotropic drugs, one of which is infrasonic weapons. The history of creation and its present state have been hidden for several decades behind a veil of secrecy.

What is infrasound?

Waves propagated in atmospheric air are conventionally divided into three main frequency ranges. An audible spectrum, occupying a maximum of 20 to 20,000 Hertz, refers to the acoustic or audio range. Its boundaries are conditional and depend on the characteristics of the hearing, subject to objective evaluation after the construction of an audiogram, individual for each person. Higher tones are called ultrasound. The frequencies from zero (that is, complete silence) to 20 Hertz belong to the infra-acoustic range. The person does not feel such rare fluctuations in the air environment. But the absence of sensations does not mean that they have no effect on the body and mind. It is on the effect produced by ultra-low frequencies on human behavior that infrasonic weapons are built. The idea of its creation is not new, it took possession of minds in the first half of the XX century, but its implementation in practice was quite difficult.

Installation of Cyppermeier

The fact that every material body has its own frequency of oscillations is a widely known scientific fact. If the external action with it coincides with the period, then a sharp increase in amplitude occurs, sometimes leading to the destruction of the object. This phenomenon is called resonance. Austrian physicist Zippermaier during the war tried to apply air waves of the subsonic range for the defeat of British and American bombers. In 1943, he even assembled the installation, according to his calculations, capable of disabling enemy aircraft.

It is not known for certain whether this was a clever trick designed to persuade the Nazi leadership in the development prospects, or Zippermaier actually managed to split the decimeter board at a two hundred meter distance by striking an acoustic wave, but further experiments led to nothing and the project was closed. Despite the failure, it can be argued that the vortex gun was an infrasonic weapon. Her photo was supplemented by a list of "Wunderwaffe", with the help of which Hitler hoped to reverse the course of the war.

The experiments of Dr. Richard Wallauschek

In the concentration camps, the Nazis committed many crimes, some of which were of a quasi-scientific nature. The Tyrolean Research Institute was concerned with the effectiveness of acoustic effects on the human body. Experiments were put on prisoners and prisoners of war: they were placed in a low-frequency field and observed the deterioration of the state of health of the experimental subjects. Than the symptomatology looked worse (vomiting, panic, insanity, deterioration and cessation of respiratory function, digestive disturbances), the more perfect the infrasound weapon was considered.

This fanaticism continued under the guidance of the murder doctor and war criminal Dr. Richard Wallaushek until January 1945. The installation was a special generator, powered by oxygen and methane, with emitters resembling giant (3.25 meters in diameter) dynamics, but it operated only at close range (up to 60 meters). According to the laws of physics, the intensity of the impact fell quadratically to the distance.

"Psychotropic" frequency

After the war, German infrasonic weapons - a cannon designed by Vallaushek - went to the Americans, they captured him in Hillersleben. The gun was not of great interest then, but it was remembered at the beginning of the space era, when there were doubts that astronauts could perform their duties in the conditions of strong vibrations inevitable during the start. NASA decided to get acquainted with the results of experiments carried out in fascist Germany. Additional experiments made it possible to determine the most "psychotropic" frequency, equal to 19 hertz, when exposed to an intensity of 155 dB, the exposed face has hallucinations. Many scientists in the US thought that a key was found, using which one can easily create infrasonic weapons. This turned out, however, not so easy in practice.

Rumors and speculation

Reliably to find out, how it is possible to influence consciousness and state of health of the person, most likely, for the present it was not possible. In the media from time to time, sensational reports of allegedly conducted in the USSR experiments on ordinary people standing in lines and covered by inexplicable panic while passing mysterious cars past them flash through the media. Documentary evidence of these facts is not, but the sensualists, who are sensible to the sensations, willingly believe and unverified information.

Physicians also say that the headache is caused by fluctuations from 20 to 30 Hz. There are resonant frequencies in other vital organs, such as the heart (5 Hz), the stomach (3 Hz), the kidney (7 Hz), and so on. However, this information by itself does not mean that infrasonic weapons of mass destruction can be created in the near future.

What is issued for special weapons at the domestic level and during the war

The market dictates its own laws: individual means of defense are sold all over the world, and novelties are widely advertised. Instruments of compact size and light weight, capable of directing a powerful sound effect on the attackers, have become a running commodity in recent years. There are cases of their successful application (for example, against Somali pirates). As a rule, this is not an infrasonic weapon - it works at the frequencies of sound heard by the human ear (2-3 kHz), and is just a strong irritant, dumbfounding the aggressor and leading him out of mental balance. The same applies to the more powerful systems used by US troops in Iraq and other countries to suppress the manifestation of mass discontent. Strong and sharp noise operates without fail, it disrupts, especially if it occurs suddenly. It is not difficult to create it using conventional broadcast installations. But the infrasonic weapon, if it exists, acts secretly and selectively.

Nowadays

The work in the field of psychotropic subacoustic influence is undoubtedly carried out in different countries, including in Russia. The main stumbling block, apparently, was the methods of radiation waves of sufficient efficiency and the right range. Even people who are not very familiar with the technology, it is clear that the usual electromagnetic speaker, even of very high quality, can not cope with the task: it has too low efficiency and small possibilities of directional influence. It is almost impossible to create an oscillating system with a range below 20 Hz of enormous power. Panic was caused by the "acoustic bomb", applied by NATO troops, but its action is too short-lived. Not such a modern infrasonic weapon. The scheme of its emitters, most likely, will be based on piezoelectric elements, which practically have no restrictions on the frequency range.

The Russian leadership obviously understands the importance of this type of advanced weapons.
