How and for what you need to install Java on your computer?

Until recently, the architecture of Java was known only to advanced users and developers, but today much has changed. As it turned out, many programs are currently written in this free programming language, which gives good prospects for their development. In particular, it is written by the client of the famous game Minecraft, and therefore many users are interested in how to install Java on the computer. If you are also interested, we invite you to read this article.

However, before the story about the installation process can not be given little attention to the technology itself. Java is a programming environment, incidentally being a computing environment developed and maintained by Sun Microsystems. Its peculiarity is that this environment is cross-platform, it is used in many mobile devices and even in space vehicles. In a word, if you work in some application that uses this technology (and you almost certainly do it), then you must install Java on your computer.

Why do I need to install Java?

Given the prevalence, cross-platform and full openness of the code, one should not be surprised at the huge number of sites and applications that will not work without this technology. If you do not install Java on the computer, then all this wealth can either completely stop functioning, or it will not work correctly. By the way, it is Java that lies at the heart of Android, which is so fond of many mobile OS, the share of which in the market continues to grow at a rapid pace.

We are installing the application

Before you install Java on your computer, you need to check whether the older version is installed on it. To do this, you will need to run an application on your computer to emulate the command line mode . If you are a beginner, then click on the "Start" button, find there the item with the name "Run", then enter in the field for the "CMD" commands (without the quotes). Click on Enter or the "OK" button.

After that, a command window will appear in front of you, in which the cursor will flash on a black background. Copy (without the quotes) and paste the Java-version command into it, using the Copy-Paste command and the mouse (the keyboard combination Ctrl + V does not work). After that, you can press Enter.

If this program on your computer already exists, then in the first line you will see something like: "Java-version 1.5.0". Seeing such an inscription, you can not install anything. Otherwise, you must continue the installation.

But! The previous operation requires us to run the command line in administrator mode, and in the way described above it most often starts from a simple user. This does not suit us. To guarantee the utility with administrator privileges, you need to do something different.

To do this, click the "Start" button again, find the "Find programs and files" field there, enter CMD there, then find the same file in the appeared window with search results (usually there will be only this line). Right-click on it, select "Run as administrator" in the context menu. All! It's time to install the Java program on the computer.

After downloading the installation file, double click on it with the left mouse button. The "Setup Wizard" window appears, where you click on the Install button, and the installation process will begin. Depending on the power of your PC and the Internet, it may take a different time. At the end click the Close button.

So you learned about how to properly install Java!
