Home and familyHolidays

Greetings with carnival

Pancake week or Sour week is a holiday that came to us from the depths of centuries, when our ancestors were still pagans and saw off winter, meeting the spring. The Orthodox Church accepted it, and now we celebrate this holiday on the eve of Lent. For a whole week we go on a visit, we walk and have fun, accepting congratulations with the Carnival and congratulating others. Pancakes are an obligatory attribute of the festive table. They are served with sour cream, butter, honey, caviar. Only you should give up meat, and everything else you can eat, how much your heart desires.

During the Maslenitsa mass festivities are held, where people joke, lead dances, sing songs and in the main square of the city or village they set up a stuffed winter. This custom came to us from our Gentile ancestors. It is believed that those who do not have fun during the Shrovetide week, will be sad for a whole year. So let's have fun, and give congratulations to the Carnival to our friends, relatives and just strangers!

During the festivities, you can ride a roller coaster, attend fairs and buffets, play games. On Shrove Tuesday it's cold and frosty, so the fun must be mobile. Play the lambs (our ancestors were very fond of doing it). By the way, you and I also played it more than once, only called it "hide-and-seek" or "catch-up". You can change into the funniest costumes (baba-yaga, snowman, goblin). Read the poems, in which congratulations to the Carnival - comic and funny. For example:

I congratulate you on Maslenitsa

And I propose pancakes to you.

Come to visit us

And carry a hundred grams!

Or:

We wish for a week,

To the pancakes you all ate

And they laughed and had fun,

The main thing is that they do not get drunk.

You can think up congratulations for Maslenitsa or find them on the Internet, try to follow the basic rule: more humor and no scruples or attacks.

On Wednesday at the Shrovetide week, the son-in-law must definitely visit the mother-in-law. Hence the expression "to the mother-in-law for pancakes". A mother-in-law gives them to her beloved son-in-law with a heat and a heat, and he gives a present. The choice of a mother-in-law depends on your relationship with her, but even if they are far from ideal, then on this day try to establish them. Think of funny congratulations on Maslenitsa and your mother-in-law will appreciate them. We can offer you this version:

My mother-in-law, where are the pancakes for me?

Let's sit down, eat and talk about life.

I thank you, for my wife - your daughter

And I want to tell you - you are like my second mother.

Be well, merry

And she's always nice to me.

I congratulate you on Maslenitsa, wish you many joys

And I want my daughter to be like you!

We are sure that you will get it much better and more fun.

Congratulations with Pancake week can be the most unusual. You can put on the pancakes congratulations on caviar, make inscriptions with sour cream or jam. It will be very beautiful and healthy, and your Maslenitsa table will fully correspond to this fun holiday. You can come up with funny congratulations with the Carnival in the form of some original knickknacks or hand-made articles. Find such funny little things you can in any gift shop. And, please, do not forget to accompany your gifts with cheerful inscriptions. For example:

For my beloved mother-in-law, I would not regret the horse,

But so far I'm giving the horseshoe that she was healthy!

All congratulations on Shrovetide (comic, witty and funny) will help you celebrate this week and come to the Promised Sunday, ask forgiveness from your friends and relatives.

In the resurrection, after the stuffed winter is burned according to the pagan tradition, spring comes, and the Orthodox enter the Great Lent. The events of the previous week, as a rule, leave pleasant memories, and Post observance appears as a natural event in the life of people preaching Christianity.
