Flowers-flycatchers: is it possible to have home contents?

In recent years, flowers-flycatchers have gained serious popularity. Increasingly, although not very often, they can be seen in the apartments. The fact is that now they are almost freely available for sale, especially if you know exactly where. Now, lovers of insectivorous plants are available options such as neptens, dionea, sundew and sarracenia. Some of them are easier to care for, others require special conditions.

The most popular indoor flower-flytrap is probably a dione. It is her who imagine when they talk about insectivorous plants. Another one of its name is the venus flytrap. This small plant looks very beautiful: rosette of thin leaves, usually located horizontally, and at the end of each of them - a small trap. The inner side of the traps can be green or red, the flower itself can also have a different appearance.

Dionia is one of the most easy-to-care predatory plants. One "but" - it is very demanding to the water. In general, all the flowers-flycatchers - marsh plants, so the soil around them should always be moistened. Dione has special needs in this regard - it needs to be watered only with distilled water and only through a pallet. At the same time, it needs very intensive and prolonged illumination. Best if she is in the direct sun. But it does not need to be fertilized, and in no case should one feed by force, especially something different from living insects. The most difficult is to transfer the rest period, because at this time the temperature should be positive, but very low - 3-7 degrees.

The next popular flower-flytrap, which can be taken care of at home, is sarracenia. It also needs moistened soil and sunlight, it easily tolerates drafts. Requirements for water are the same as for dionea - it must be distilled. High air humidity is not required, but even here the main problem may be wintering. For a good development, this plant needs a fairly deep pot, and the transplant should be performed immediately after the end of the rest period, usually It is done every two years.

Slightly more capricious about the humidity of the air are such flowers-flycatchers as sundew. Depending on the species, they can survive both at a rate of 40% and 80%. Watering through the pan should also be done by pure rain or distilled water. Earth should not dry out. With good care are frequent cases of flowering sundew at home. Most species also require a cold wintering, without a period of rest, the plant can quickly die.

But it is extremely difficult to grow non-animals at home. The fact is that they are extremely demanding of air humidity, they need a figure of up to 90%. Theoretically, this is feasible, but the majority of non-artes are fairly large plants, so they are not always placed in greenhouses. A good option may be the arrangement of a special large enough greenhouse or orchidarium, where you can place flowers including a flycatcher.

It is believed that carnivorous plants are complex and capricious in care, but in most cases conditions for them can be created in the house. Let the apartment be a corner of exotics!
